I would say do a Mach1 03-04 Motor. If you get one out of a manual Mach, you get 6800 redline and the Cobra crank with aluminum heads and block. They are also rated at 310hp and 335tq (those are the lateset #'s ford came out with). You can slap on a 99 or 01 Cobra intake and be done, or atleast up and runnin'!!!! hehehe!!!!

I did a little research for ya. The marauder has an aluminum block and heads as well. It dont have the steel crank like a mach 1 though. Probably because a manual transmission isnt available. Found that in a "town Hall" chat with Steve Babcock from Ford. http://www.edmunds.com/townhall/chat...ipt060602.html
Your future plans should play a part in your choice in my opinion. If you dont intend on adding a power adder in the future,I'd go with the marauder engine. If you may add one try for the mach 1 engine. That will save you from buying a crank later. Ofcourse from a junkyard you may find that they both cost the same. Also if thats where you buy whichever you choose. MAKE SURE IT CAME OUT OF THE CAR YOU WANT IT FROM. Alot of those places will sell you a reg. GT 4.6 when you tell them you want one from a Mach or whatever. Alot of people would never know the difference nor would they care. So check for the aluminum block and all before you pay 'em. Your tranny should bolt up just fine.

thanks for research,I will make sure the motor is in car before purchase, also,i have researched myself,i know going forged would be great not sure if going s/c buuuut the potential of 4v over 2v is hard to ignore.i believe n/a 400 is a lot of power and i've never driven a 400hp car.i could be happy for 1year then s/c,im just ready to move on with out 600.00 cobra payment.my note is 140.00 for 2000gt with all options.I can play more down the road after payoff,I love the cobra's but state prisioners are already eating better than me!!!!not to mention i have a lot of visitors from rival hp junkies waiting for me when i get off work,1 good punch very covert like and i'll sleep better!!!! thanks
