it's funny how much needs to be done to a Mustang 3.8 v6 (oh wait, sorry, 4.2) to get that kind of output...
Whatever happened to the 3.8 in the Tbird SC? People seem to forget the past, and give too much credit to present feats.
Not to mention, there's a long list of other cars with smaller displacement that can achieve that kind of power with either bolt ons or minor work+bolt ons.

You seem to forget we're talking about a OHV ford v6, there are already plenty of supra's pushing 1000 hp with their turbo'd v6's.

The Grand National has a pushrod 3.8L v6... And for the longest time those cars have been able to achieve pretty high numbers...Originally Posted by Aerosi665

What was different about the grand nationals then, stock forged internals or something?

Actually, there was a faster pass made. I believe the SSM stang ran a 10.3 with a little of giggle gas and it ran a 12.0 N/A.

Nice 6 but why would't you pay a lil more get a v8 and put the same amout of money in it to make it WAY faster?
unless your going strickly strip ,i dont care how many cylinders you have thats alot.almost 600 hp is pretty damn good for a v8 as well. and i would rather be different .i think people are more impressed with a 500 + v6 .Originally Posted by storm7127

Yeah, plus I pay peanuts in insurance and stuff the rest of that extra cash under my hood! There's a guy around my way who has a 410 HP V6. His website is www.extremev6racing.com. Wouldn't want to pull up next to him!
We can't wait till ours is finished it will eat that 500hp v6 for lunch LOL We will establish it very soon and we will post a Dyno sheet to prove it. Then in a year or so we will really make you sick. and about the peanuts for Insurance your right but we carry extra It's Funny we never tell anyone who asks us what a Stang is. They will ask is it a GT and we say we will make you think it's one and they go as high as a Stage 3 and we say we will make you think it's one. LOL
Don't forget to weld gussets across that lifter valley or you will be crying you way home from the dyno shop with attempting 600rwhp.
Welding gussets across the lifter valley!!! Reminds me of a fishing trip I had in Ireland one summer..long story
550rw... whew huh?
Not with the Heads we have on this babby
