Default Cobra has met the track.... times inside

We went to Bradenton Motorsports Park on 9/17/06. This is the first time the Cobra has seen the track in the 3 years that we have owned her. This was only my second time ever racing on the track. The first time I raced was with a Roush and that was only an 8th mile track. I had a lot of fun and the more I got acclimated with the car the better I kept getting. I think George called it quits for me because I was starting to get better reaction times and was catching up to his best! You know the mans ego, can not be crushed by a girl beating him!!!! Here are the two best for George and I and also the first video is Me vs Mercedes and then the Second is George vs Civic!

    Temp - 91
    Track Temp - HOT!!! :homer:

My best run of the day:

    Reaction - 0.616
    60 ft - 1.959
    1/8 mile - 8.165
    MPH - 89.82

    1/4 mile - 12.517
    MPH - 110.53

George's Best run of the day:
    Reaction -0.632
    60 ft - 1.779

    1/8 mile - 7.747
    MPH - 90.89

    1/4 mile - 12.022
    MPH - 112.64

    Here are a few pics....

Our friends Fox was running a little rich so they are all playing Doctor...

George lined up with the Civic

Shelby Sightings may be closer than appear

What was the best is we had 4 differnent years of Mustangs there! 4 Generations were in our pit area!!!

Now for my video!!! My damn camcorder died and did not record anything. Luckily we caught it quick enough and were able to get mine and Georges with the camera!

Sweet girl !! Typically women naturally have better reaction times believe it or not.Reflexes are fast than men.Generally speaking that is. So you probably are better than him.lMAO Good times !!! Very Nice Times

Sounds like you both had a great time.

Please don't smack me for telling you something you probably already know, but ........ Just a helpful hint for those that don't know.

NHRA Certified tracks all use what is known as a "Half-Second Tree"

What that means is when the tree starts down, each light flashes exactly one half second after the previous one.

"Perfect" human reaction time is also exactly one half second. What that knowledge does for the driver:

If the lights are sequential, launch when the bottom yellow light flashes. If they all flash at the same time before the green, launch when the yellow group flashes. That would reduce your reaction time from .616 to .116 - your actual reaction time minus one light (.500).

That's how the pro drivers get point zero something reaction times. They actually launch before the green light. That is also how they "red light" if too aggressive.

A half second is an eternity on the 1320 and can mean the difference between a win or loss.

    Hope this helps.
