    Default another frickin engine problem.......

I almost have my new engine done. I have 1.6 scorpion roller rockers that require the use of tall valve covers, which are fms polished units. I have a holley systemax intake to put on there, and since I have a 94 I have to use an elbow adapter for the throttle body.
Big suprise, but the intake wont clear the covers, and the elbow is even lower than the intake plenum! Im gonna need a huge spacer to accomodate for this.
Has anyone ever ran into this problem? Where do I go for a spacer for the systemax, and just how thick can I get one?
Come on man, its stock! How could you loose!

Have you tried Summit Racing for the spacer? I know I've seen them for the GT-40, stock, and Trick Flow intakes.
    Try here:

5.0literriceeater. My brother runs the Systemax intake on a 347 in his '95. I cant remamber what valve covers he's running, but I do know he's had this problem. I'll see him this morning and I'll find out for you.

Ok bro. I talked to him. He also is using the Scorpion rockers. He said he didnt need the tall valve covers to clear them. He is using the black FRPP covers, that have the aluminum lines running through them. He is using a spacer though. Are you running stock heads ? He's running AFR 185's. That could be the reason he didnt need tall covers. The rails around aftermarket heads are taller a lot of times,to help prevent oil leaks. Have you tried sitting a short cover on there ,just to see if it does hit ?

Well, its either try to find someone around here to let me fit some on there, or have a spacer cut for the damn thing. Guess im hunting for covers again.

Ok, I have some of the fms finned covers to fit on there. Can you tell me where he got his intake spacer? Ive only seen them for gt40 and trick flow intakes. My speed shop is even having trouble finding a part number for one.
