    Default Taking my motor out

Im droping a 99 4.6L motor into my 98 Gt. Ive been told that the best way to do this is to drop the motor from the bottom. Is there any other way to take it out from the top. I dont have a lift available to me, nor the money to pay for a shop to do it.

Remove your hood, seperate the trans from the engine, disconnect all wires and tubes, get an engine lift and just pull it out. Wouldn't that be how to do it? I'm no car guy but i've seen alot of people do that, but they were doing it on old muscle cars, could be different for new cars.

removing it from top is easiest.... if u don't have a engine lift, go rent one.

Yeah i have a lift. Im working on disconnecting everything now, it was just that a Ford mechanic told me that its much easier to drop it out the bottom then to pull it from the top.

they are installed from the bottom. if you have a lift you can disconnect the k member from the body and the trans mount and the body will lift off the fron't suspension and engine trans. just doubble and tripple check that you have dissconnected everything.
