I was driving to work this morning and hit a 10 point buck (approx 300 lbs) doing 55. The force of the hit seperated the hood from the hood structure, the headlights are gone, the front bumper is folded under. The air bags deployed too. I never want to smell that smell again.
It took three men to lift the deer into the back of a truck. Lucky for me the car rides real low. The deer flew over the top of the car and then hit the other side of the road and skidded about 50 yards in the wet grass.
The officer taking the report (A friend of mine) said I was lucky!

give you...
I hit a deer with my truck on opening day 6 yrs ago,I went into work the next day and told everyone
I got my deer,when they asked what I used(it's either bow or slug gun here)
I said "An S10"..I got the WTF?? look all day...

OUCH! Well, you're ok.
I hit one about 4 years ago, and it tore the hell out of the old T-bird. If the car is not salvageable, then hopefully there is enuff money from insurance to replace, and start the new project.

i was driving in san marcos, texas one day and a deer rammed the side of my explorer while i was doing 40 no damage cept i saw the deer and prolly could have touched it if i wanted to out my window lol no damage though

I hit a deer couple years ago in the roush. was only doing 35-40, but i did bambi good. One peice went over the top of the car and the main body rolled-in the passanger side. After that I got a dailey comutter car.
