keep us up to date J....Im really curious to see what kind of numbers you can get out of the 6 with a blower and how well it responds....Also looking at installation problems that you might run into
Great your half way there!Originally Posted by J

We need a custom tune for the injectors that came with the vortec...we are contemplating putting the stock injectors back in to make it driveable - its pegging out the O2 sensor at idle. With the stockers it will run fairly well. Someone asked about the problems with the install. First problem was that J bought a used setup, so we were missing the parts for the oil drain, the A/C stuff, and the flexible EGR that vortec provides. In my opinon, if you have a choice, get a system that mounts on the other side of the engine so that you only have to relocate the alternator (like ATI's) or get a roots type... The A/C business is a hack fix at best, cutting the low pressure side and then using barbs and hose clamps are not exactly the best. But J's car is done give or take the tuning/injectors and it whines just like Rusty Wallace at Daytona! It's just a little on the fat side right now.

OK so J asked for another post install update by me and J2... we put the stock injectors back in and got the fuel from idle to about 4900 rpms back under control. When we get back from Woodward (& J spools up some cash) we will re-install the 38# injectors and take it to a professional tune shop and get it set up. I maxed out the fuel curve and maxed out the retard on the spark advance and still get some detonation above 5k so for the engines saftey, and because J wears lead sox, I set the shift points below that rpm and for the next couple of weeks he should be good to go. I cannot explain the look on his face tonight with this thing working...he is mucho happy.
