    Thumbs up Hey, new guy from Michigan

    Hey,

    I followed a link to this site the other day - Pretty cool site. I've got a laser red 2000 GT coupe. It's a 5 speed, charcoal leather, K & N FIPK, and 2001 Cobra wheels with BF Goodrich Comp T/A's.

    When I was looking for 'Stangs (way back in May of 2000), I wanted a triple black 2000 GT vert (black top, leather int., paint). The dealer I went to - Pat Milliken Ford in Redford, Mi - near where I work and live, did not have any on the lot. The sales person I spoke to said that I would have to special order a 'Stang like that. The problem was it would take approximately 6 to 8 months to fulfill the order.

    The deal was back then, Ford was selling so many Explorers, Expeditions, Excursions, etc with V-8's they couldn't keep up with demand. (Priority went to the big 'ol SUV's, 'cause that's where the profit is). ****!! Oh, well. There happened to be a laser red, 5 speed coupe with charcoal leather interior on the lot. It only had 23 miles on it - so I took it for a spin - I was sold!! (The performance was like night and day compared to my '90 GT - that's another story! )

    Skip ahead 5 years - I will pay it off this month!!
    I've got just about 64,000 miles on it, I've had a couple of warrantee issues with it, but really no big deal - love it!!

    Good story, especially the paid off part. I got to enjoy that this past April. It's definitely nice to have extra money free.
