    Sorry just a noobie question. I know where it is in the car...but why is it called that???

    cause its just for a foot rest....its litteraly "dead" meaning it doesnt do anything....

    i barely remember when the High beam light switch was on the floor near the "dead pedal" instead of on the colum.

    I had a 76 caprice classic with high beam switch in the floor, it was kinda nice.

    I Like using that floor switch...I wish they still did that. It was easier to dim the lights.... in an auto anyway...

    Those high beam switches on the floor use to be cool. If someone pissed me off at night i would pound that switch. Its not the same with it being on the column now.

    My first truck was a 79 Chevy C-10 Custom deluxe with the foot pedal and it was kewl. My second vehicle a 76 Monte Carlo also same deal. Work truck a 66 F600 Load star also same deal. Project car 75 Dooge Monaco same deal again.
