Default Blue Oval Industries Smoke headlights

When I first started on my car, I knew I was going to change out the headlights because my stock ones were all glazed over and looked like crap. I think Ford really needs to address this issue. Seems their headlights have this cancerous condition, and not only looks bad, but can be dangerous.

So I did a bunch of E-baying and came across Blue Oval Industries Smoked Headlamps.

Product Cost: For 169.00 for 2 headlights is a Terrific Price. The lights even come with bulbs. “But long after the adulation of a great price fades, poor quality lingers” I give the price 4 Thumbs.

Product Install: How hard is it to change out headlights. Ease of Product install is a 4 thumbs up.

Product Quality: OUCH. This is where it hurts. I have seen plastic put to better use!! The seals on this product, for a better term SUCK. Right now, I have had so much time, using the wife’s hairdryer to get the condensation dried up, the wife has bought one for her, the hair blower that is. In the Product support section, I will address additional issues. The bulb alignment screws are not the best in the world. As a matter-of-fact, they easily become stripped and are un-usable. If you see a Mustang with a driver’s lamp looking for aircraft, don’t flash your high beams at me please. I only have this set to drive by. So Product quality gets ONE thumbs up.

Product Support: If you buy from these folks, Caveat Emptor. Support in regards to the condensation consisted of an e-mail saying to put a bead of silicone sealant to the headlamps. OK where. I have more silicone on these headlamps that a Porn star would be envious. When I mentioned I would like another set, I was told to ship them back, and they would ship me another set. Hey MC FLY, this is my only headlights I have. When I mentioned that, they said they would have to charge me. BTW, I do have the E-mails for your review. Based on this product, I am giving my very first 0 thumb.

Product Looks: When there is no condensation, they look great. As a matter of fact, I really like the looks. Too bad the condensation detracts from the look. Based on that I give the looks a Solid 3 thumbs up.

Sooooooo. The final score I give Blue Oval Industries Smoked Headlights, available to and E-Bay Buyer, a Definite 2. A very hard 2 to give at that. My personal opinion is to spend a bit more on a quality product with better customer support.

    Thanks All.

Take my articles for what they are. My honest review. Hey you never know, you might not get transportable aquariums!! Ask them. They have a copy of my article.

if you have a 99-01 mustang you can get a hold of the 02+ head lights, they come black stock. I'm not exactley sure on the years but I believe they are correct.

I would like to have clear corners but I'm not really sure I can drill into my stock lights and take out the Amber without damage, expecially because I dont have a dremel.

You can carefully heat them in the oven and seperate them and remove the amber its much cleaner you just have to be careful.

Why purchase mustang shit from eBay? There are a bunch of companies that sell quality Mustang parts at decent prices. Year One and 5.0 Restoration come to mind first. I have had nothing but great service and product from 5.0 Resto. My new headlights were on sale at $169 with the clear side lights. After taking the two sides off first the center light was easy to remove and installation of the new units were pretty damn easy. The quality has been excellent, with no leakage, but they are plastic and they won't last forever. I have purchased interior and exterior parts including paints and dyes with no problems. Give these guys a shot before hitting some lame eBay company with inferior products.

I bought my headlights and lx taillights from two different companies on eBay. The reason I bought them off of there is because Late Model Resto didn't offer the style of smoked lights I was lookin' for, if they did I would've bought from them. I got my headlights from SabreSports and haven't had any problems from them. I've bought junk from bigger named companies, such as LMP truck, and can't do anything about it since it was installed and used already.

    Thanks Crimsonblack

Thanks to Nicoleb3x3 for this one.

I hate ordering online. It's the only way to really get the stuff you need, but it's nice to hold it in your hands, look at it, and go yeah, this is what I want.

Anyone have any ideas about how to replace the cheap molding around the blue oval headlights? I wonder if a professional molding company could come up with something custom??
