    Default Can't wait

Tomorrow my hood lifters arrive via FedEx from RedLineTuning. That is this Saturdays mod, except I am buying a new power washer to clean her.

Saturdays outlook is 69 degrees with sun!!

You mean the gas strut kit? Ya I've had those for a while. Very good mod. Much easier to work on the car without the prop rod.

Come on you guys, the prop rod doesn't get in the way unless you're pulling motors. You don't need to justfy the purchase with some commonsense explanation. You got em cause they were cool looking, chrome and you wanted them!

I'm gonna buy a whole mess of billet interior pieces because they are easier to keep clean...no, because they'll last longer than the OEM materials. My wife would buy that...right.

    1. yes they are cool looking
    2. they're not chrome
    3. yes, I wanted them, but because I have worked on cars where the prop rod was right in the way, and have seen people hit the rod a little to hard with their elbow or something, and get a nice surprise visit to the back of the head by the hood. So I concidered it a function before form mod, that in fact does look good.

No Chrome? No show? :crying: That sucks. Can you polish em?

Function is a lightweight prop rod...

When you're really working on an engine, the hood gets placed on the roof of the car

If you can find a way to polish the plastic on the outside of the gas shocks like what is on your decklid, do it and tell us how.

This kit actually weighs less than the prop rod (don't ask me how)

Yes, if we truely were car guys we would take off the hood to change spark plugs or clean air filters.
