I'm thinking of buying a 1985 lx with the first generation throttle body fuel injection system. The car needs a complete exhaust system. My question is, will headers and a real dual exhaust system confuse the old mass density computer?

I wouldn't think the mass would care about the exhaust side.

reply to j it would be stock for an 87-93 most likly without cats The 85 now has cast iron manifolds ana a 2 into1 into 2 exhaust
to gunner 85 FI was speed density not mass air
Ya I thought about that after I had logged off .. my bad .. thanks for making me look like the village idiot .. LMAO

I thought 86 was the first year for EFI, 85 still had a CARB.
Some 85's had a throttle body with two injectors. I'd still like to know if i can change the exhaust system without confusing the computer. Better breathing on the exhaust side should not affect vacuum, the variable in a speed density system, but not sure
