what the hell can that be true...
A comparo review between the GTO and 03 Cobra made the GTO the better car in all areas except performance...
Now we know what a new review would say...
Damn that's one nice beast for 33 grand!

The last GTO they had looked like a Sunfire with different badges.

hahaha....damn...shitty gas mileage, but then again it's a 6.0L LS2.
If I ever got one I doubt it would be an automatic, though.

It's weird how Ford gave up on pushrod power to go to the modular motors. All in the name of tech and emissions. Wish they would have spent the time and money developing badass 302/351 parts instead. Chevy is still getting by with pushrod power. For the money, I'd still go with an itsy bitsy 281cubed 03/04 Cobra.

on the other note... ford KNOWS they can do it.. take the Ford GT for example.. that's a 200MPH car...
it always confuses me why ford's #1 sportscar (for the price) has to lose in all head to head performance aspects now

V10 Cobra? Tons of torque and free breathing heads based on the '00 R heads would be so badass. They've built one already for that Retro Shelby Cobra, it was tested in the same Mustang that carried the 00 R engine around for testing. Not to mention the exhaust note on the V10 is just plain sweet sounding.

NOTHING beats the sound of a big block V8.. NOTHING. I have a 454cu/in motor in my boat with water jacketed headers and thru-hull exhaust... BEST SOUND EVER. Especially when it starts... the starter sounds like it's dying cause of the 12.5:1 comp. ratio and then it kicks over.. it pegs to 4 grand for a second then idles @ 1800Originally Posted by NoSlo5.0

dont gett to excited yet you guys, there rumors that GM performance parts might be dropping the LS7 motor into the GTO and call it the Judge. if they do it right, it be a two door with only a 6spd. hmm 500hp in a gto that eqauls copo cars. and the best thing, 6.0L badge will still remain.lol i want the judge. and the new camaro is gonna be 425hp(z28 and ss). gm is making a return! ford better get it in gear really quick, they got a great platform but not the right motor. i say ford needs a boss mustang with an old school 5.0 pushrod making 450hp that would kick ass!
1988 Pontiac Trans AM WS6- 305, 5spd, 3.08 open rear, rebuilt motor, cam, high press oil pump, edlebrock intake, moroso wires, accel cap and rotor, high flow cat, dynomax exhuast, K&N filter
Don't think a 302 is gonna do it, hit the 450hp mark that is. a 351 based smallblock would be able to though. Remember, it's got to have driving Miss Daisy street manners to be a production car. A 302 making 450hp would be a high compression, big ass cammed, snarling monster that would need to rev to 8 grand. That's not easy to do with even the current crop of aftermarket parts. No problem for a 347/351 or better yet a 393.Originally Posted by 88TA5spd
However, I may as well go piss up a rope, Ford will never go back to the pushrod 5.0...

you can make high HP on the mod motors... they just dont last for shit....Originally Posted by NoSlo5.0
