    Default Which Stang to buy

O.K. I've been gone for awhile and been crazy busy, and I've sold my 93 LX Vert. I am looking at these two now.

The first is a 95 with some mods and has 140k on it
Baught factory cobra rims, with Toyo Proxes. $500
Pioneer cd player with Fosgate amp wire kit $200
    Optima gel battery $150
    Bassani x-pipe exhaust..Sounds great!! $320
New stage 2 clutch at 135k, with relaced tranny-Have reciepts $800
    New rear brakes at 138k
Tune-up with MSD wires and plugs at 138k
    K&N air filter
    New led headlights
    Stalker 2 hood

As with any car, there are a few minor things wrong.
    1) Air conditioning doesnt work...probably a recharge needed
    2) The door cups are loose, and need new clips
3 Clutch cable is stiff due to the heavy duty stage 2 clutch, nothing is wrong with the cable or clutch though, but you will need to get used to it.
    4) Drivers seat doesnt adjust, need a new switch because it is a power seat.

The second is a 97 and lists as stock with 110k.

Prices are good for the years, I just could use some more Mustang people comments.

Well I'm looking at one of them too, but that's what I just sold. And I always wished I went newer. I don't knw. The 95 is gone, so only the 97 and this one right now are in the running.

It's silver with metallic smoke silver racing stripes. I don't have any details on this one yet, no mileage but he does say there are some updates so I'm waiting for a response on this one.

To me the 95 looks cleaner than the 97 anyway. Not a bad looking fox, good luck on your choice.

My bad it's the other way around, 97 looks cleaner than 95.

This could be a tough call .. I think the question is do you want to have a car that some else had added mods to and either live with them or change them to your liking or start with a clean slate and make the car your own. If it were me I like the the clean slate idea best if the price is right. Best of luck in your decision.

    Look at the mechanics.

Have a reputable mechanic look at both, do compression, leak down tests, check for leaks, check the tranny, brakes, cooling systems.

Don't look at the mods if you're gonna have a toast motor in 20k miles. Both engines have a lot of miles on 'em, make that your top concern.

Mods are cool -- IF the car runs.

So I bought a 1994 SHO in stead, it was the cleanist thing I have seen for the money I wanted to spend, it's a 5 speed and it has some upgrades. This thing really flies.

Well thanks, It took a lot of test driving. I just can't believe what some people will try to sale you. Mustang ='s Gold Mine in some peoples mind. You get these guys who tell you "I know what I have so don't try to BS me" Like I had a price range and I wasn't breaking it I know what I sold my Mustang for and it only had 51,000 on it, I know what I should have been abale to pick up a decent car for. I can say Mustang owners are a unique breed (me included).

I miss my Mustang ton's and I loved getting back into some and having that Mustang feel, but I'm happy with the choice and saved myself money. I get a bonus in Dec. and my daughter starts driving in August of 09' so maybe I'll start a Mustang fund and let her have the SHO (I know bad move).
