its different. either the input shaft is longer or shorter. cant remember, but i asked a speed shop that works on mustangs and they said the 4 cylinder is differnt and alot weeker than the ones that come in the 5.0's
The trans will bolt right up. The pilot bearing in the crank will have to be changed though. The input shaft on the 4 cyl. is smaller in diameter. A bearing is availabe for it, but couldn't tell you by whom. You could also get a bearing for the 4 cyl. and have it machined (trial and error). I ran one behind my 351 while my T5 was in the shop. I didn't change the bearing though. It didn't seem to hurt it, but I wouldn't recommend prolonged use withou changing the bearing (bushing) in the crank. It made a big difference in toeque though.
