The sound of nature in the sunlit valley.
A white picket fence gradually transforming into a white wall.
Butterflies blown off their resting spot on a flower.
White knuckle tight.
Gripped onto wrapped leather.
Perspiration.
Adrenaline pumping.
Pupils dilating.
Heart racing.
Hear that baby whine.
Hear that low rumble echo throughout the valley.
Disturbed birds take flight from treetops.
The sound of the machine is louder by the second.
Hearing different tones.
Rubber burning.
Pavement crying.
Tips hissing.
Shifting.
Passing.
Accelerating.
Piercing lights.
Red and blue.
Black and white.
Tone throughout the valley slows.
Full yellow line becomes spaced apart.
The block begins to hush.
Footsteps approach yet adrenaline slows.
Tight grip loosens.
He arrives.
The darkness over your eyes slides downward.
Looking up to the robot.
Ready to take you.
Wanting you gone.
Knowing you can escape.
Inlays of silver.
Below, no plate.
Nothing to identify.
Will you take off?
Will you suffer with the cost?
“You know how fast you were going?”
That sly smirk grows on your face.
Smoke rises!
Squeal with piercing pain!
Pavement cringes.
Slide. Slide. Slide.
Power lines transforms to a thick wall.
Everything a blur.
Happening so fast.
You are free.
Nobody can catch you now.
