Please help! Stumpedddd
I've got a 2001 V6 5spd mustang.
About a month ago i had a problem with the car, as i went to back up into my driveway, my brakes and my steering locked up, and my service soon light came on. I turned the car off and i was able to restart the car with no problem and it seemed to run fine after that.
Just this past saturday, i went to turn through an intersection and the car did the same exact thing as about a month previous. Brakes, Steer, and light.
The only like variables are that i was slowing the car down at the time each event happened, and that i had slightly above a 1/4 tank of fuel.
If anyone has had a similar problem please let me know, or if anyone has any idea as to what might be going on. I checked local garages, Ford TSB's and i'm baffled!!! :nailbite: :hmmm:
Any help or input is GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks so much all

The car was still running when this happened? I had something like that happen when my alternator was going bad... the gauges went crazy, lost power steering and brakes... I turned the car off and restarted it and it was fine for a few more minutes.

Did it make any noise at all? A very bad belt slip would cause that also

J - Yes sir.. car was still running (this would be so much easier to figure out if it werent, though i'm glad it DOES run lol) Was there any other factor that you had with yours when the a;ternator was going? just want to know if there's other things i can look out for. Thanks a bunchhh!!!
Joekd - Nopee, i didnt hear any noises at all, the RPM's jumped a little bit, but other than that there was nothing else, it sounded as if it were operating fine. Nothing gave any reason to think it's a belt but i'm hitting 60,000mi soon so i'm doing a full service and i'm just gonna do all the belts just in case, or check them all out at least.
Thanks guys for the input, it's really helping alot, trying to narrow down possibilities for a cause. If you can think of anything else let me know!
:thanks: :j:
