Hey I got enough money for a couple new parts for the car and i was wonder what everyone things on what to get i can choose out of three things in the area they are : 17 inch mustang 5 start rims, tuner mod chip, redo the gears in the car and differential or duel exhaust so any help thanks

ok here is a puzzle for everyone i just got the rims installed on my car i got the 18s on it now when i go on the freeway around 45-55 the sterring wheel starts to shimmy..sometimes and other times it will be just fine and any other speed then it dosen't even show any shimmining in the wheel at all any idea's

ok i just had the ball joints and tie rods checked and had the tires balanced however i have a question what would be better to have the stick on weights of the static weights becuase i am about to do a cross country drive and would like to know what would be better
Do not put clamp on weights on your pretty new wheels! Do the stick ons. They dont do as good a job as the others, but will get it close enough that the car shouldnt vibrate.
And a shimmying steering wheel means you need an alignment. If not, you will eat the inside or outside of those tires fast!
did it shimmy before the tires were installed???
did your shake go away after they were rebalanced?
I have this problem with my car now...turns out to be wheel bearings! took me a few years to finally nail it down...same issue- sometimes it would do it, and sometimes it wasn't doing it..so it took me a while to finally confirm the issue.
wheel bearings can be checked by jacking up the car, put on jack stands...and put your hands on each end of the wheel...and try to shake side to side- like wobbling in/out.
ps..if it's wheel bearings they're adjustable on my stang...I assume all stangs are adjustable-
if they make "noise" or feel rough when turning the tire- then they're junk and need to be replaced with new seals immedately.
This problem didn't start until i put the new rims on there i got 245/45/18 i did have 205/65/15 before hand however i checked the ball joints and the tie rods because the person who put the tires on said it was probibly them I have yet to get an alignment on it yet so i think i will do that also was there any real adjustments i was suppose to do also

I would credit the stock suspension with your shimmy issue. Most likely the geometry is all out of whack due to your new 18" wheels. Hook it up with some Eibach sport lines and have the alignment redone...see if might help it out.
