A guy I once worked for had a rare Cobra that he loved to brag would beat my old stock SN95 V6. He had maybe 300 hp vs. my 150 so it was a silly comparison, but whatever. Nowadays, a new V6 with a couple of good mods could stop all that talk for good. I'd love to be there when it happens.
I get sh1t from the guys a work about my "little" V6. Dyno day came and my slightly modified 245ci produced more RWHP than 2 of the 350 Chevy motors did. I i put dow 207rwhp, and 233 rwtq, these guys didn't hit 200 rwhp, beat me in torque, but was expecting that.
Needless to say, the whimpering began as well as did the excuses.
One day.. I'll be putting a turbo on this little V6, once the warranty is gone.. then the fun begins... :devil:
v6s arnt that slow my buddie and i were running in his v6 with maserattis or how ever you spell that also s2000 srt4 and v8 mustangs all he has is a cold air intake i own a v6 for the fun of pulling up to a ricer or a v8 and laughing when you see them in your rearview
I took alot of crap for owning a six becuase of how much I had done to mine and how much I was in the scene. Everyone said "By now you could have had the GT", "Ohh it's a six." Explaining how only a six cylinder at all the shows. Note how we always say "only a six cylinder" all the time. I am glad I finnally got the GT, the v6 was a good car but it will always be lacking. Hopefully I will find the time to sell it now.
Every once in a while I'll hear a comment... Mostly I just smile and ask what color is your GT? They don't even own a Mustang.
Other times I'll just be minding my own business and the opportunity arrises to have some fun...

Even had a 2006 GT (who knew I was running a V6) drop it down to 4th and floor while we were side-by-side at 65.
I floored it (downshifted to 3rd) and stayed side-by-side right up to 105 when he backed out of it. He was pissed, but he definitely was flooring it (even took his foot off the gas and slamed it back down again like it would make his car go faster! Did I sense some HOSTILITY?).
I made sure to pull in front at 110 and make my exit at the next ramp 1/2 mile down the road...
Smiled all the way home...

One guy was driving a 01/02 GT and I gave him a thumbs up. I waved and put the hammer down... he decided to follow... and couldn't gain on me until I hit the speed limiter at 115.
A couple miles down the road we both stop at a rest area.
He starts, "how do you like your GT?".
I smile, "It's just a 6"...
"No, shit?!? Sounds mean..."
Almost all GT owners are cool in person, just on some of the boards they get their attitudes up since they are safe behind their monitor...

So I realized that I've been gone for a while, but what's with all the sadness about owning a V6? V6's are awesome.

I love my 6er. Looks like a GT and most everyone thinks it is until they get up close. I put a few badges on it (hood scope and trunk lid) letting them know its a 6er. The side exhaust racing pipes give it a sound on the open road that makes it sound like a V8. Most GT owners look offended when they figure out its a 6er. I love the look on their face....... :diss:
i use to get comments from people when i had my old mustang, but not from other mustang owners. people would always say but its only a v6. i liked my old mustang very much. unfortunately many people dont give any respect to cars with a v6, because when i had my old car people in porsches, camaros, and trans ams always wanted to race me. now that i have a gt when people come up next to me at stop lights all they say is nice car. i think as long as it is a mustang, 4 cylinder,v6, or v8, it should be givin credit because a mustang is a mustang
Most guys with GTs (i said most) look down on us guys with 6ers. They always think they are better than us. I mean I agree Mustang is like the American car honestly lol....but back to what i was saying.....I wave at any mustang i see on the road its like an exclusive membership ya know? But when I wave to guys with GTs its like they smell their own farts or something and turn up their nose at me.......I know im not the only one that experiences this.....

I invited some dude in my area to come out to the Kemah hang out one night, he drives a new 08 blu--V6 very nice stock ride.but that his was a v-6. I told him that it did not matter it was still a ford and still a MUSTANG...now he rides with us...
i no that i own a v8 but i dont see anything wrong with the 6. truth be known you all are the smart ones the way gas has jumped up so high. plus a mustang is a mustang weather its a v8 v6 5.0 or a 4 banger.
no 4 bangers are a different story, they cant ride with me. lol im just kidding 4s are cool too.

There has not been a ricer in my family since 1972. To be a matter of fact, nothing but Fords since 1976! Last 4 cylinder was 1983. Nothing against a 4, I just like spending money on fuel :smack:
we had a crx at one point, but we only had it cause my dad drove a long way to get to work and he needed the good gas mileage. we also had a civic before the crx for the same reason, but my dad went out and bought an ironing board and opened it up and then screwed it on where the spoiler should go. it was funny as hell.
We have had nothing but fords as well........66 fastback, 89 GT, 08 F350 Superduty, 08 Ranger............wait my mom has a 07 charger with a hemi she used to own a bronco though does that count? lol
When I hit the car show I'll leave my hood down for the first half of the show, and listen to all the praise the guys with GTs give me for how my car looks and the mods Ive put into it, then in the last half of the show I'll open the hood, you would be surprised by how many of them can't determine its a V6 from looking at the outside or walk past the car again and look inside my bay at my few mods like my CAI and TBS and still don't realize its only a 6er. I don't pretend to be a GT and I don't pretend Im the fastest car around I know every GT could beat me. I just don't bother correcting 95% of the guys with GTs who walk by my car and don't know enough about their car to realize mine isn't the same. LOL
So yeah I catch a little flak for being a 6er but for the most part Im laughing on the inside at how many of them see my fogs and make the assumption... even when looking at my engine.

I take crap for owning a v-6 everyday of the week with guys I work with. I'm used to it. I keep trying to get these guys who think v-8's are the next best thing since sliced bread to go to these websites and check it out for themselves. Needless to say they won't do it. I just try and keep telling them that one of these days they will meet a v-6 that will blow the doors off of their v-8s and I hope its me or one of my v-6 buddies that does it. Keep your head up J. your doing a fine job.
I get crap from my friend. His parents bought him a V8 and talks about how my 6 is so small and sucks. I own my car he doesn't so it doesn't bother me as much.
Most of the time people come up and start telling stories about the 6cyl they had back in the day. Most people actually like seeing my 6 cause I'm usually the only classic with a 6 at a show.
dont listen to what others say bout motor size. i owned a highly modified grand prix gtp and still had people running there mouths even tho a just walked all over them . funny thing about douche bags is that they are always douche bags. sometimes you just cant win with these people and its best to just accept that some people suck more than others.
I really don't care what anyone has to say about a V6. Mine is paid for, it runs great and it has it's own character. Indeed I put some minor mods (mostly cosmetic) but my "need for speed" is satisfied on the game console. I grew up on a 69 Road Runner with a 440 six pack so I know what big HP is all about. If I wanted a faster car, I'd get a Porsche
You six guys should love this .. I was just on the S-197 forum and taking to a guy that works at the Flat Rock plant and he says that the new 300HP sixxers are being installed as we speak.
v6's wouldnt be so bad if the people that owned them didnt rice them out. v6's are drivers, not racecars. when my gt was stock it was getting over 30mpg on the highway... now even with the 4.10's and cams its getting around 20.
I don't really get any flak for owning a v6....
its all good until people start doing stupid shit to them but there again that can go both ways with gt owners.
That is why a lot of folks look twice when I tell them mine's a six. We have a lot of dumb crap done to the sixes and those who do not are few.
