I don't pick on sixes. As a matter of fact, I don't provoke anyone, half the time GT owners probably drive home thinking to themselves "I knew that guy didn't have shit, just a six with a body kit..." I get riled thinking about it, but what do I really have to proove?
I understand the six is an economic choice in most cases, and for those who don't choose it because of the economics, just don't care about how fast a car is anyway.
I give J shit about not being able to count past six all the time.....in fact I'm probably the reason he started this thread :) :) :)
Don't forget to ask J about his butt - paste
people are going to talk about whatever you have regardless of cylinders.they always have a friend of a friend who knew a guy who had a car that would kick your car's ass.people are ignorant plain and simple.
The new 05 six has a higher HP rating than the 93 Fox 5.0L...
Not as much torque, don't expect near the same performance.
power to weight ratio is a bigger factor:)Quote:

I get shit for driving a six but when the light turns green and my little 6 automatic graps secound and barks the tires i have been getting a little respect from gt owners because they cant belive that a little 6's is doing that
I must say that I haded having my v6 when I first got it but now I love the car lower insurance, better gas mileage, and fun to play in. Plus I've been to alot of mustang shows in the past few years and v6 in the newer class normally win the mild class shows because we love mustangs and keep them up better.
I put my six in shows even though it is a "girl car" I always laugh about that one. I am putting down about 220 BHP now with a few decent bolt-ons and just picked up a gen 2 Eaton M90. I should be smokin GT's in no time. Lookin to run about 5 PSI nothin crazy. AND THEN I have my 4.6L cobra 4V on the stand back home haven't had a chance to go get it but I will soon. It is just a pain finding all th related parts to make it fit/run.
No, area under the torque curve is a bigger factor. And yeah, weight too, but a couple hundred pounds isn't as significant as the 5.0L torque at 2500rpm vs. the V6 torque at 2500rpm.Quote:

In fact alot of people really don't know much about Mustangs so when they see my car, they don't say , oh its a 6 eh. They are like. WOW a Mustang. Only the GT and up people seem to say "oh my you lost 2 cylinders"
What many people seem to forget is that the 3.8 99+ Stangs have more power then many of the v8s in the earlier years. But whatever. I love it and eventually will do some modding to get at least 300HP so I can have a sleeper.
Obviously you dont live in my town in Ohio LOLQuote:

I don't know about you but all the crap I get for owning a v6 comes from GT owners. Cobra owners will give me compliments on my car but the GT owners tell me I need a new engine :(
There will always be a faster car no matter how many cylinders you have....I'm going through a 2.3 to 5.0 overhall to just get from 105 HP to 225 HP...now; the new v6's are comming with more and more HP...
The problem is still this. The six cylinder cars have cheaper parts - rear end, suspension, tranny, ect. When you see a 2005 six cylinder you think. Wow, nice parts car. When I go to the junk yard to check out the Fox body cars all you see are 2.3 liter parts cars. Maybe the O5's are different. Sure they have more HP, but it's still the weaker model. I'll take a SN95 or Fox body V8 before I want a V6 2005.
If it was vette, a Camaro, Firebird, etc. it's the same thing. Down the road, it's a nice parts car.
No gripes or pokes at those driving the beautiful sixers here on GotStang.com. My wife is interested in a yellow V6 94 to 04 Mustang. She'll probably get it too. They are nice looking cars, but they are not the V8 you expect in a muscle car. I don't use my car at the track, or for road rally's. It's just a daily driver that sounds great and the V8 power is there if I want it.
I love it when someone ask me when I plan on dropping in a V8. My response is always "didn't know I needed one!" I love the GT's that just have to have the "get off the line first Gears" i.e. 3:73 or 4:10's. With the gears I'm running I can take em on the highway and that really pisses em off! My 6r is lighter and cheaper on gas and insurance then the V8's and I can still make it put out over 500hp, with mods of course.
Yeah, about 100 lbs lighter. lolQuote:
