build up trannie build up rear end and engine
5K wouldnt cover it but I am sure I can come up with the couple hundred bucks difference. The list price on it is 4,899. I know because I am getting ready to buy one for real...Quote:

Performance! Forge the bottom end, add cams, ect....then add the KB with 12-15 lbs of boost!
Stroke the engine. add a 270 degree cam with .5 inches of lift. supercharged.
watch er go.
fuck the roots type blowers...too much money, why not just go with a procharger kit or a vortech kit for those that dont like self contained systems?
getting to me...i've got the cosmetics department finished for a while before i can afford another paint job.
as of now, the only thing i need is a DSS super pro bullet 331 short block, stuffed with a scat forged crank, manley rods, and probe pistons, with an FTI custom grind. i've already got the heads and manifold for the set up...its just a shame they arent getting used to their full potential on my stock block. with the remainder of it, i'd beef up my rear with an auburn diff, and 31 spline axles, or a 5 lug conversion with a baer kit.

just so ya know.
KB > vortec > procharger
:D
i'm biased to procharger only because i've seen huge numbers made of their kits compared to vortech. roots type, i understand where you are coming from because you lack the displacement with your tiny 281, and feel inadequate, thus feeling the need to go and favor positive displacement 'chargers  but basically...i have a friend that used a 14# S-trim with aftercooler on his 91. stock block, punched .030 over, based on stock crank and rods, with new pistons, some blower cam, ported stock E7s, and a cut, ported, welded stock intake, and only made 42X whp being the best after 3 tunes. sold that kit, and went to a P1-SC kit with a 14# pulley and front mount intercooler, put him at 478 whp, untuned, and 50X whp with a single tune. now THAT my friend is why i put procharger over vortech, regardless of problems some people have had with the self contained oil system :w00t:Quote:

oh, and on another note. my brother has a focus. threw on a jackson racing blower thats been ported (similar to the 03/04 and lightning Apten modded blowers), running a custom ASP crank and 18# blower pulley and it ran well, smoked em well into 3rd but again, the car fell on its face. built up NA civic B18 cars and turbo integras were pulling him(rarely) or catching up at the top of 3rd going into 4th, after a decent lead going up to that point. went to the vortech shaft drive system, swapped pullies, with a custom tune, and the top end of the car was just amazing...car kept pulling and the power never stopped until the 7200 rev limiter.
so...in my opinion, Centrifugal>roots type
Well if you enjoy a honda type powerband thats cool and all. I'd rather enjoy full boost at 2 grand and have the much broader powerband. :DQuote:
