Not only to I get shit for owning a 6er... I also get shit because I dont have wheels... like Im choosing to roll on stocks... mmm kay!... if I had the money Id have chrome 18 M1s but I dont have that money right now... I take shit because I dont have his mod or that mod... or because I DO have a mod they dont like... I wish people would get over it and realize its just a fucking car. Its personal preference. i have a hunch you have no idea what you are talking about, or maybe you are just drunk.

And as for me, i have the money to buy a V8, and i will, but im only 17 and until i get bored with my current car im not going to get another. A big part of modding my V6 is too learn how engines work and get some experience inside an engine. I do not want to attempt a complicated cam swap or something of that nature for the first time on a 30k dollar car. whats not to understand 4.2 liter conversion and blower. i'am 19 and grew up around cars all my life v8s are nice if your don't . but as i said before insurance for a v8 starts at 4000 dollars a year then theres gas and repairs. i think i'll stick with a 4.2 liter and a blower all motor parts will be from kenny brown and eaton or vortech super. I have other stuff like a house to pay and bills. i just want something cheap on insurance.

I do not get much if any crap. I had retired from the AF and the price and the car where too good to be true. My car used to be a fleet vehicle, and I got it for a great price.

That about sums it up (minus all the ?s). Fun. That has always been my experience with Mustangs. Doesn't matter what year, what displacement, stock or modded. Doesn't matter. The true Stangers drive for fun.

When I can't resist the urge to get on it, and I catch a good bark hitting 2nd with my 2.73 gears, it's fun. When I pull a GT at a light because of having a better reaction time, and he just has to put me in my place, I laugh.

Do I take shit for having a 6? That depends. If it's friendly harassment, sure and no sweat. If it's not, then I just ignore it and go about the real reason I have always driven Mustangs - Having Fun. :thumbup:

Well, I can say that I've been on both sides of the fence. Even though I only drove mine as a six for a couple of weeks, I still got a taste. Here's my take on "the six".

With some wheels it looks like a GT to the untrained eye, that's a plus. For that matter, they can look every bit as good as a GT or Cobra, good looks is proportional to cash spent.

The car is embarrassing to drive fast, don't do it. It's just as lame as loud ass GT's that go nowhere fast. (i.e. offroad pipes and nothing else to boost performance). Accept that the car is not fast and drive it accordingly (unless you have spent the money to go fast, in that case have at it).

The V6 cars handle exceptionally well given their lighter weight and superior front/rear distribution. That was lost as soon as the 347 went in.

Now the flip side, a high compression 347 makes as much power naturally aspirated as a blown 03/04 Cobra. Big plus. Fast cars let you race alongside slower cars (who think they've got a chance at a kill) only to light off the tires for the remainder of first and second all the while rolling away.

Nothing says "you'd lose" at a light like a big cam, V6's can't do the lope.

Have you ever been behind the wheel of a 400rwhp car doing a third gear pull on a freeway on-ramp? It excites all the senses, well, more than one anyway.

Been behind the wheel of both, to extremes even. I'm not one to bash a V6, unless you deserve it. I understand that it's not about hp for everyone. I don't really get it, but to each their own.

most people didn't buy their six to make it into a full blown racer. now, the v6 can be made to go fast, but most would rather prefer to leave the engine somewhat mild. it's no a matter of wether or not the v6 is a fast car, but rahter do you personally want to take the time/money to make your 6 go fast. for me personally, the answer is yes.

Wouldn't bug me in the least to see you flogging that car. What's up with the induction setup fit for a 400hp V8?

nah you gotta have love for the mustang. No matter how many HP you are pushing under the hood its still a stanger. I got my cobra after driving a mazda 4 cylinder for a while, then i got a v6 camaro and tinkered with it for a little bit got to know my way around the engines and saved up for a long time to get my cobra. For me i love mustangs, my dad had a older one when i was growing up and i always wanted to know why it sounded so good and why it went so fast. you do not have to know everythign about cars to have a love for them. When i am driving around i will give a small tap on the gas and let another stanger hear the rpm's i do this to all stangs. It is my way of saying hi. But as far as talkin down on a person cause they have a v6 that just shows a lack of respect for another person. what they do to there car is there choice. so screw those peopel when they say v6's are not crap. oh yea i pay 96 dollars a month for insurance i am 19 no wrecks or tickets. GEICO IS THE SHIT!! to each there own.

ive been messed w/ 3 times... one kid had a 3000gt (owned him), other one had a mustang gt i imbarassed the hell out of him. and the other had a honda accord.

i caught up w/ the kid in the gt on the way home from school(he was talking shit that day) and we raced, it was 4:00 so traffic was a lil heavy and i won!!!!!!!!! i had someone in my car and someone the next day told me he saw my take the other kid

the kid in the accord totalled b4 we could race... this kid wanted to make a "racing club" and i was like what the hell ill join and he wouldnt let me in...

hmmm i am not saying i do not belive that but what happend?

sixxers cant be made to go fast...they can be made to go pretty quick, but definately not fast...

I give shit to people that own a 6... does that count? but only to those who think they are fast :D

yeah you gotta a point, but that doen't mean that all V6ers think that way, im gonna be supercharged this summer and i will pull on stock GTs with my 250rwhp, but im not gonna go out looking for races but i will sure piss off some people that are not expecting it, i just hate the guys who talk shit on V6s for trying to make them quicker.

Some are going to talk smack to the six owners no matter what. It seems that for some, the number of cylinders required for comfort is inversely proportional to penis size. Frankly, I'd be comfortable with a 2 cylinder two stroke if it made the same power and torque...;)

Bash all they want.. LOL I got a 97 sixxer for 3000.00 and a 2002 gsxr750 for 4000.00 "still paid less for Both than most peeps did for their v8`s. " so i get the best of both world.. a pretty lil six.. and a syc gsxr that`ll spank just about any street legal cars arse.. dont post negatively or flame.. line it up or shut it up. :) Face it the only reason us Sportbike riders own cars is because God created Rain.

I don't know how quick the 750's are today, but back around '97 one of my buddies used to ride his at Hawaii Raceway Park. To get it to go 11's, he'd have to dump the clutch on the limiter, damn near fall completely off the bike as it practically went airborne, land at the 60ft mark, crawl back on it and beat it the rest of the way down the 1320. I can't remember what his trap speeds were.

Then again, I watched a pro rider on speedvision take a Haibusa (sp?) down the 1320 to a tune of low 10's, and he looked to be in total control the whole way. No crazy antics required.

I know bikes have gotten significantly faster since then.

However, it is ridiculous to bench race your sportbike vs. a V8 powered Mustang when you're driving a six. Either build the six so it can hang, or suck a fart out of my ass.

Oops, I almost forgot, any serious, blown H/C/I V8 could potentially hang with a bike. Just takes $$$.

Why do people compair a bike that you can lift by your self to a 3,400 pound car? I am not saying my car is better than a sixer but i mean never compair a bike to a car. thats like me saying my car coudl out run a 18 wheeler. (given there are exceptions to the rules) my car shoudl be faster. Point being do now compair things that are nothign alike.

I dont think the # of cylinders matters. Do people make fun of the supra? It only has 6 cylinders. :loser: Then again, the ford v6 was not made for power. I say if you build it up to hang with the big boys, go for it. Look at Justin's v6 twin turbo stang, less then 5k invested and it ran an 11.4x in the 1/4th.
