DAZED AND CONFUSED!!!!!

OK OK OK!!!! I need to step on the soap box for a moment here, so bare with me. Maybe I shouldn't care, I know, but these face-offs are getting very frustrating. Before I get going, anyone I mention please don't take offense, it has nothing to do with you or your car, I LOVE THEM ALL!!!! But, I sit back and watch my car beat out Computer Guy, Lose to My Cobra, and then watch Computer Guy beat My Cobra. DON'T GET IT!!! Then I watch onebad beat COOP in a very tight race, lose to My Cobra, then COOP Beats My Cobra. AGAIN, DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!!! But hey, I guess some things in life just don't make sense. Don't get me wrong here folks, I don't care if I lose, I play enough competitive sports to keep me humble. But, If I beat team A by 7 TD's, team A beats team C by 7 TD's, and then team C beats my team by 7 TD's, I have to take a step back and woneder, WHAT THE FUCK JUST HAPPENED!!!! I just faced 2 Roush's in seperate challenges, both titled Roush vs Saleen. Lost one, won the other, when the 2nd Roush was a better car than the 1st. GO FIGURE!!!! FRUSTRATING TO FIGURE OUT!!! :wow: So, with that said, I am officially retiring my car from any Face-offs. I KNOW!!!! WHO CARES??? I DO!!!! And just wanted to say what was on my mind. I will still vote on who's car I think is better, not my friends(even if someone has a better car than onebad95 or coop). I love this site and have fun participating, but I'm tired of racking my head. HAVE FUN EVERYONE and thank you for letting me stand on my Soap Box :thanks: I'm sure some of you may have something to say, so I welcome any and all responses. I'm off the soap box.....

ComputerGuy got my vote because it would have been plain stupid to see MyCobra win a "Best Silver V6" faceoff. A lot of the faceoffs aren't serious comparisons, rankings don't mean squat, it's all for fun as far as I can tell. Sooner or later OneBad95 or Coop are going to win a "Best Daily Driver" faceoff. Don't lose any more keystrokes over it. A paintjob does not make a car, nor does some wheels and GT exhaust, frankly, I no longer know what makes a car...

It all depends on who is on. And the time of day, etc. Don't spend time racking your brain, because it is all in fun. You also need to take a close look on the Face-off title. The only reason I won was because I said "Best Silver V6" Some people actually read the title and vote the title. My Cobra does not have a Silver V6!

I could essentially Challenge you to a "Best NON Saleen" and the chances are I would win.

me personally.i always vote on the best car ,and never look at the titles.with me i have really backed off,because there seems to be a back-lash against cars who like to participate in the face-offs.the more some of the folks here see the car the more they vote against it ,even if you have a much more deserving ride.i think you(04saleen) have one of the sweetist rides on here.chin up and keep up the good work!! :beerchug:

Man i am not trying to bitch you out. I have had my share of losses. The match with you was very close. the match with computerguy i did not care about cause i looked at the title. Hell i voted for him. its not about the car i do not think. I think it is more of an attitude thing. For me i see a few people on here that have nice cars but they are not the nicest people and will talk trash about other people. So for me i do not judge by the car i judge by the person also. Also if i think that somebody has a nice car and they are just picking on somebody else (12 hour match for 50 points) then i vote for the other person just out of spite to the way they are taking advantage of something nice. I voted for you also in our match. I think you have a nicer car than me and you should have won. But that is my thoguths. Everybody has there own voting system in there head that they use. I have showed you mine. Maybe it is a bad way to do things but that is just the way that i do them. I vote for people that are bringing good to the site and the peopel that have nicer cars obviously. The thing is, I wasn't trying to pick on any one, ok maybe at 1st, but once our group got way out in front and the face-offs were around for a while, it was time to back off. Just don't think some of these Face-offs make sense, that's all. It's frustrating to see a an 86 that needs some apparent work can be in a close race with onebad95, who has big time work and dedication to his car. It is insulting. :diss: It's really tuff to be a part of something that has become as comical as challenging someone to who has the "Best Silver V6" when the other car is a V8 Chameleon paint job, just to get some votes and points. Just real tough!!!

I personally consider My Cobra a friend and we poke at each other all the time. I have the highest admiration for him and respect him very much.

like I said I thought it was funny... maybe you should do it with someone who knows yer sense of humor lol... Other people have different ideas of what the face-off is about. Keep it clean.. no drama.

I think the face off's are a great idea. I can understand 04Saleen's point about it being frustrating. Since it's all in fun, maybe do away with the points in the face off. In a way who cares. The point system means nothing. I would gladly throw all my points away and just be a part of the site. Now, I'm not saying that I have not experienced some frustration through the face off system, but it seams like there is a lot of hating going on as Coop said. Also, I'm sure Computerguy was doing that battle as a joke, but why not say that in the forums so everyone knows that. Who knows, maybe people may of voted for Nick as a reply joke. Either way, I don't think Nick or Computerguy really care. So no harm, no foul.

Let's just try to keep having fun here. I have already met a couple real cool people here and look forward to meeting more nice people on this website. Hell we are already up to #21 on Stangnet's top 100 last time I checked. Let's see how high we can climb that list and forget about all the BS that can sometime comsume us and make us forget why we came here in the first place.

Don't take what Dana(04Saleen) is saying the wrong way. He is a great guy. I have know him for a little while now and is very genuine and likes to speak what is on his mind. I commend him for that. I agree that it is pointless. I guess what i do in life, got into this site. I break things on purpose. I break programs, I break computer code, and I broke this game called Face Off. I used social engineering to do it. I took a predetermined outcome and used it to my advantage.

I think it would be interesting to see how people do vote! I think it would keep people honest too. I mean, I went against Stalkerbabe and beat her decently. i face the same exact car again, and get royally destroyed. I don't know why, but that's just how it is. I think it would be interesting (at least for me) to see who voted against me and who voted for me.

I know my self I look to see what people have done to the rides and put thier own personal touches to them. After experiencing all the high and lows of my car over the last 8 years, I can understand what it takes to have a car you love. The problem not everyone looks at it that way. They may just vote purely on how a car looks, take for example a Roush or Saleen that is the same as they way the bought it on the floor. I usually don't vote for these cars unless they have come back and added personal touches. Just my opinion on this but I like the people that have put blood, sweat and tears into thier rides. I am not saying people that are getting into these face off don't have great looking cars, they do, but its up to other peoples opinions on what is better. I got a major dose of reality at a large car show here in dallas this summer. We were at the unique performance show and had about 300 cars and probably about 20 in my class. Well I thought I was top 3 for sure, well didnt even make the cut and the cars that did, I personally thought my car was better. After this, I reliezed it wasnt worth getting upset over becasue they were all great cars but it was participant judging which can easily throw things off. Oh well hope my ramblings make sense to someone besides myself

If I had to guess on how people vote, it probably goes like this.


Look at screenname for recognition. Any screen name with the implication of it being a hot chic gets voted for without any other research 80% of the time (I'm guilty of this if I don't know either of the screennames). If no hot chic is implied, then vote based off of what that person has said in the past. Kane probably doesn't get a lot of votes because he pissed off a lot of people, and not just the V6 crowd. Next, people probably look at the "greeting Picture". Pick based off of which one looks better in that picture. If by that time people haven't still made a decision, then they will visit the webpage. The odds of it actually getting that far though are slim to none.
