he's talking about ACID... as far as the loops that sony give you yes you are very limited.. i use a mixture of ACID and Fruity Loops (FL Studio)

ACID is great for combining stuff and mixing hence you can see each note.

I just made a new beat... im putting another thread up so everyone sees it ;)
