ok, so my rubber lines connecting stainless hard lines on the car to the hard lines on the engine have gotten destroyed by my tire (last year). It was clamped back over the hard line end...and it's not acceptable fix since I've already had it leak once.

....so....

I plan to have the tube cut and flared to an AN 06 fitting - easy right?

well, no; because the rails at the base of the engine are ford male connectors....and I bought a russel line that only fits the female end on the fuel rail.

so.....I could eliminate the mid/side rail going up the side of the engine (since no one makes a ford female, only the male version is available believe it or not) so..I can run the braided fuel line up from the bottom to the fuel rail itself eliminating the need to use female ford connectors.

so now I need to get braided line longer than the one I have.
but the only ones I want are the jegs 350 hose, but I would need to assemble the hose ends myself...has anyone assembled these fuel hose lines/fittings before? some are twist on...but I think these require crimping??? I wanted to run the back braided line from the top of my engine (so yeah I'm being picky since I have so much time invested it might as well be what I want)

the line is here

the connectors are here

Hey Nicole, they don't really give you a big picture there, but they look to be the twist on deals, which we use all the time for diesel boats. Basically take the first piece and turn it down reverse thread untill it seats on the hose, but not all the way up the smaller threads, then back it off a half of turn. then take the next piece, put just of bit of oil on the end, and shove it in and turn it regular thread until it stops. give it one more twist of the nicole-rightarm-calibrated torque wrench and your good to go.

I'll really have to look tho I could have swore I saw fittings somewhere that do hook directly to the factory rail.....I'll look around and let you know. You want to hook to the rails under the hood and go to # 6 right??

Russell performance sells a Mustang fuel line kit, that replaces the rubber part under the hood that goes to the hard rails. Has all the connectors already. I think it's less that $100 too.Part number 651104 for the 1987-93 5.0L Mustang. Russell Mustang Fuel lines (http://www.russellperformance.com/auto/fuel/fline_kits_street.shtml)

thanks but those are only the male connectors...so they only connect to the fuel rail...and not the bottom of the side rail-
but what i did do; was have the bottom side rail ford male connector cut off, then the tube flared to take a special fitting- so I did that on both ends eliminating the ford connector. Russell should make both the male and female ends- but they dont!
