Clutch??

If it's not one thing it's another....I got the parts to do my lowering and a shop to do it all...except the alignment for less than 200 bucks....that's all the shop works on is mustangs...which is really cool....BUT.....

On the way home from work today as I was getting on the freeway I shifted into 5th and was pushing on the gas....(yes.. I let the clutch out)....the revs ran up really high...but I got no speed pick up.......it also is doing this in 4th gear as I later found out....and also I noticed that in either gear if I eased onto the gas (instead of my normal steadythrust to the floor) the revs come up slowly and the speed picks up with the revs....if I ease on it slowly!!.......

Question is.....is it the clutch or the trans itself?

Just another mod I wanted....just not right now.......by the way.....just how long can I keep driving it like this??

Do you smell anything when it does that? Usually you can smell a clutch slipping..If it does it in 4th gear, then it's most likely the clutch, as the fourth gear in T5's are straight through ( uses no trans clutches or gears )
