Stock GT's (no CPU mods) have a fuel cut-off @ a hair over 6k RPM.

A stock GT can reach a speed of 140-145 (depending on conditions) in 4th gear @ 6000 rpms. You will hit the "rev limiter" and your speed will drop to around 120-130. The CPU is not limiting the speed, but cutting the fuel untill the motor has gone below ~5300 RPM. A stock GT can go 120-130 @ 5300 RMP

I was making 230.0 rwhp / 272.6 rwtq at the time I had 152 on the speedo. It was ~4300 rpm in 5th gear. I believe it was topped out. :lol:

Last Friday before i parked my car for the weekened (i use my dads truck as my Daily driver on the weekend and for work) i wanted to dust the cobwebs off so in our neighborhood theres a backroad about 1 mile long with no curves and no houses on either side so i spanked her up to about 115 took only a few seconds and i wasnt even cranking her through the gears, i was easy on it...i got scared so i shut down!

Really guys? You put a chip on a 99+ PI and you can hit 140+ easy. I've topped at I believe it was 148 or something according to the digital speedo our cars come with, I hope everyone here knows how to access them. It was awhile ago so it might have been in the lower 140's, plus at that speed I'm always skeered to look at the speedo and take my eyes off the road. With the diablo and 4.10's I've hit the 140+. I would like to get some pics just to be sure of it. Without the chip the car shut down at 132.5. Damn limiter.

my license is still gone yes i did my time. since it was a first offense they said i had to do 6mos. in jail and 350 hours in comunity serves and lost my license for one year i will be getting it back in apirl 05. i drive my notch to work only with out my license

I hit redline in my Cobra on 3rd, which is about 140 MPH. I wasn't really staring at the speedo to be honest, but after I shifted to 4th I let off the gas.

I took the GT vert up to 135, and the fastest I've ever taken a car was a calculated speed of 157 MPH in my '94 GSX with a 16G turbo @ 17 psi. I took it all the way up to redline in 5th. The speedo only shows 145 MPH, but by calculating gear ratios I came up with 157.something at its redline in 5th.

That was, believe it or not, racing a black 360 Modena... He was gaining on me all the way up, and literally walked me once I passed 5000 RPM in 5th (I think that was about 145 MPH).

Damn Ferraris, haha... And just before people here think I'm a fool that thought a GSX could beat a 360, I did not know what kind of car it was until he was just behind me... At 2 am, at freeway speeds, and about 10 car lengths behind me, I thought I was playing with a 350Z, no joke... This was almost 2 years ago.

I went 120 in the stang, but I wasn't trying to see how fast it would go, was just making my point to some chick in a BMW.

I had the Fairlane running @ 4800 in 4th gear, the speedo is broke, so I can only guess. The rear end is 2.73 gear ratio.

That's about 155, that's where I was in my 95 when I had the felony style traffic stop. Stupid ass car has flames shooting out the pipes because my Speedbrain didn't cut fuel properly on decel...One more thing for the police to bitch about.

Just wanted to correct myself... I was in 4th gear with my Cobra, then shifted in the 5th. At around 120 MPH I wasn't really looking down at the speedo, but shortly after I glanced at my tach and realized I was right at 6500 RPM... shifted and then let the foot off the gas.

I believe redline in 4th is about 140 MPH, or probably like 139.something, hehe.

I had my GT with 4.10's hitting the rev limiter in OD. Speedo needle was wrapped back around and pegged at the little peg at 0 mph. The intersate lines had blended into 1 solid line. I have no idea how fast it was but according to the online speed calculators, with 4.10 gears, 18" wheels and 6K rpm's, it was right at 162. So if the calculators are right then that's what it was. I double checked with a couple other calculators and they all pretty much said low 160's.

The RSX is geared to reach ~174 MPH in 6th gear, but is impossible due to aerodynamic drag. I've had it to 135 ish in 5th and it was still pulling.

Not to mention, HP... To reach the vicinity of 175 MPH in a car with a coefficient of drag between .29 ~ .32 (most small compacts fall in that range), you would need about 320 ~ 350 HP... You could always go downhill, though... hehe
