Had some minor stuff done today which involved jacking the car up - too cold to mess with it myself. Not a wuss - just hate frostbite. :) The guy in the nicely appointed heated garage was all amazed at my car.

"Three hundred horsepower!??? There's only one other car in town that I know of who can beat you. Where do you race this thing at?" (Verbatim as I'm trying to capture the Larry The Cable Guy flavor here...) I answered that as soon as the car got a blower, I'd take it to the strip north of Nashville.

"A blower!!!" He exchanged incredulous looks with the cashier.

"Yeah. I couldn't afford an '03 Cobra, so I'm making this into something close."

Boy, was he transfixed. He asked if I had any bottom end work done.

My rear end is in top shape - don't anticipate ever needing surgical intervention there. What on earth was he talking about?

"Your oil pan. It's got a glossy black enamel finish - looks like a Moroso. Those things run $300. Did you get it replaced?"

"Not that I know of - wow, maybe someone gave it to me!" I replied.

"Look she's all excited!," said the cashier.

So does anybody know what the stock oil pan on an '03 GT looks like? Is it black enamel, or did some kind NASCAR angel give me an upgrade along with my other mods?

I am completely confused as to what this post is talking about, lol. I thought you were in your garage and some guy stopped by until you said cashier. As far as the oilpan, if it weren't below 20 degrees here I would go look.

LOL CallawayGT, sometimes I don't know what the heck my typing fingers get up to when I'm not paying attention... it's freezing here too so guess the curiosity will just have to continue until spring. :)

Yes they are black and not normally glossy.
