ok im looking for headers and H or X pipe don't know what 1 to go with. I have flowmaster cat back. Look for something that will sound right and not make it sound like crap. Then i need to know for long tube headers will i need to do anything with them. when i had my v6 it had long tube headers and it started to melt the wires for the started all and any advice or comment would be helpful thanks.

If you go with long tubes you will need to get O2 sensor wire extensions. If you want a deep throaty sound go with the H-pipe, if you want a little higher exhaust note go with the x-pipe.

I have the Mac shorties, but I've heard Hooker makes a good header. They are a little pricey but worth the money.

Not a 4.6 guy but the only guy I know who put long tubes in said the install was a major pain. Unless you are making serious power not worth it in my opinion. Checked out a Mach 1 with shorty headers, off road x pipe and flowmaster after cats. Car sounded good but was really loud like almost too much. Much louder than my Fox with the same set up. Depends what sound you are after.
