lol, nice story :)

here's a paste from your site for the lazy people:

An "American Haunting" ... Boo!

<DIV>How did I get *this* in my driveway? A year ago, it was just your usual red Mustang. Thousands of 'em just like it everywhere. Then something uncanny happened.

Cruising home one evening, I noticed the local yahoos' pickups were getting faster, and the rich boy ricers' sound systems shook my windows.

I drove through a low-lying area known for flooding, swamps, and Civil War carnage. They say orbs and flashing lights still dance across the fields. The thought of so many people being slaughtered within a few square miles has always given me the creeps.

Fingers of mist crept into the road from both sides of the bridge. Suddenly, the throwout bearing emitted an eerie howl and the doors clicked shut. I perused the sickly greenish gauge lights, looking for some sign of electrical trouble.

There was trouble, all right.

What I heard was not a voice (this wasn't K.I.T.T., after all) but a thought that overrode whatever else was in my brain at the time. It came from every surface in that car.

"C'mon, beeyotch! I'm a Mustang; you can't let these punks make me look bad! Do you really *like* getting beat off the stoplight by a Nissan truck full of tools? Gimme your wallet and let's rock."

The glovebox flipped open, sucking in cash, credit cards, and common sense. From that point on, the car was in control. It was all I thought about, dreamed about, and worked for. Like a case of West Nile and the boogie woogie flu, I'd caught the mod bug - there was nothing I could do.

Thanks, Nicole! Investigation of this incident found no exhaust leaks. :)
