How do you clean your tops? I have been using that mothers vinyl protectant and it works well, shines it too.

Sometimes the simplest solution is best. I use the Mr. clean autodry system. works wonders on the top.

we are not allowed to wash our cars where we live because they pay the water bill, how shitty is that. So no mr clean for me.

I guess it depends on the type of top. My 87 LX has what feels like a vinyl type material rather than the fabric style of many other stangs. I have tried different cleaning solutions and found that for my vinyl crappy beige top (that still looks new and it's three years old) I use "Grease Lightning" Auto and Shop Cleaner Degreaser. It can cut through alot of the crap on the top. I then use the 303 Aerospace Protectant for a nice shine. I have had the car for just a year and since the top is in great shape it will be changed later to a more respectable black.
