Gotstang Calendar 2007

I hope everyone enjoyed the 2006 gotstang calender,
We sold 60 Calendars, profit was none since it was a cost only sale.

it's that time again to start working on the 2007 version.

Format is yet to be determinded until I review all submitted images.
I'm also planning a "feature" car for the year....

1600x1200 pixel image of your car
NO rear views, NO engine shots, front only,)
Should be a photo of the car and not mostly background
OTHER REQURIEMENTS & NOTES:

You must be a member of gotstang and have a webpage
Your images must meet the minimum requirements
You're not guaranteed to be in the calendar if in the event there are too many applicants. In that case the best images (not the best cars) will be chosen.

J is writing a form for me, so all you need to do is fill out the form (drop down menu's) and then upload 1 or 2 images. the form will be available soon (it's almost ready now)

Nicole, I just noticed "Cobra" is not on the list for options. LX, GT, Saleen, Roush and Mach 1 are but no Cobra or Bullitt.

Nicole i was woundering if you guys pic my car in the calender i am a GT but its a serial number Steeda Q-400, Gotstang has no steeda catagory if you guys do pic me or the interseptor team could it say that BTW serial number 2001-090 just a thorught if it can be i understand missed the calender last year Good idea keep up the good work

Ok, uploaded. I chose "lx" even though it isn't an lx but there was no option for just a base 6..and you might want to change "v6" to just 6 cyl-or have a v6 and i6 option for the earlier models...

I was playing with a new format....what do you all think?
yes it's one less car, but I plan on a few other months using a different format to get those extra cars back in.

I think it's nice to view on the wall...

I think this allows more material to see each month other than all exterior shots.

With limited space, I could only get one "feature" per month and two back up cars with also good size exterior images.

again, I'll have 2 or 3 different months with larger groups allowing for more cars into the calendar.

If I get allot of applicants; then we could make two calendars - or I was also planning to release a gotstang.com poster which could cover a collage of many cars. I know everyone wants to see their car printed on something, and it's my goal to get you there and have you look good at the same time :)

You would choose Vert.

There's an option for "make" (lx, gt, mach, etc) and "model" (vert, notch, etc)-I may have that backwards, but they are both options....No biggie, but I just wanted to note that, since I don't think they had a designation for the V6 in the SN95 & S197 years (like in the foxes you would get an LX or a GT).

Now I've got the looonnnggg wait to see if she makes it!! :nailbite:

I really liked the idea of the calendar but I didn't necessarily agree with the cars chosen to be in it. Nothing against the cars that were in the calendar but I just didn't feel that it represented the best of what this site has to offer.

if the calendar was always about the "best" (a very subjective term if you ask me) cars of gotstang, then we would see the same group of cars in the calendar year after year...

the true representation of GotStang would illustrate the core member cars whether they are mint show cars or stock daily drivers and everything in between.

I think a big part of that was lack of high rez, quality pics. Having the greatest car here doesn't mean anything if they couldn't provide a good pic to use-or even if they chose to...

Personally, I thought it showed a great variety of cars-stock, modded, diff colors and engine sizes, body styles...

I love the Calendar, I even gave one away as a Gift and my friend loves it and doesn't even own a Stang!!! This time I have to order more than 2 LOL

the cars are not final, because I don't have all of the applicants submitted photo's yet.
I can say the final cars chosen will largely depend on the quality of the photo. The best stang in a crappy photo is not better than a clean crisp photo of a car with so called "less to offer".

The goal of the calendar is
1. A quality product with quality photo's (I wouldn't want my car to look like crap, so I'll ensure that if you're in the calendar your stang looks it's best)
1. That each applicant with quality photo's get into the calendar (space limited but I'lll try my hardest!)
2. That said, how the feature car is chosen is not yet determinded. Quality photo's is a MUST for a feature car (since it's has a larger exterior image it'll need clean car and background)

Perhaps after all the applicants are submitted photo's I can review the final cut of cars to be in the calendar, and then maybe have a vote for the feature car after qualified by me (meaning they have good enough photo's for the feature car)

again, final cars and format are subject to change. Organizing a quality calendar is difficult, so don't eliminate the possibility of changes.

You'd think J would have picked up on that since his is a v6 coupe! It's the only mustang to not have a secondary title. Even the 4 cyl was an LX hatch or notch. There was always motor, model, body style title for any other stang! Rather than repeating v6 coupe, I'll leave the option as n/a for the first model choice since it's covered by the engine and body style choices.

I'll ask J to add that soon!

I think the feature car should be voted on, but def. should require excellent quality pics of exterior, interior & engine bay (and CLEAN in those areas too, lol) if that format is kept (and I think that looks great in the sample).


So what happens if you submit pics then by chance get a better pic? SOL or resubmit? Being that we are apparently into Fall rain season here, I doubt this will happen to me, but figured I'd ask....

Take some good ones! get nice angles, try cloudy/overcast days they produce some of the best photo's

Also (usually) don't take the pic standing up (although sometimes this works better), crouch down, and take it at 3/4 of the side-basically, not straight on to the side or front. Cloudy days or under trees are best espeically for dark colors, or colors like mine that "wash out" in bright sun. If you are shooting on a sunny day, try morning or evening, rather than full sun at noon (creates harsher shadows). Don't shoot into the sun, don't shoot the shadow (dark) side of the car if you can help it either.

Although, sometimes you just have to settle for the best you can get! I've been working so much lately I will take whatever day I actually have time to get the car out-sunny, cloudy, even "well, they said it wasn't SUPPOSED to rain" lol...If it wasn't for WDC, I think we would have put 5-600 miles on the car all year :( and now it's already acting like fall!! Yuck...

I think it would be cool if my car, or another trophy winners, had those GS trophies by the car in the calender. It would show fellow GS support and the level of the car on GS.

good thing is; i tweeked the format to fit 4 cars,
it's almost the same except it has 3 cars along the bottom, and the feature car is the same at the top.

Every car entered into the calendar was used, even if it was in the ending collage. Sorry everyone couldn't have a normal slot; but I beleive allot of cars were used in the best way possible. Picture quality, space, and how your car worked with others was how cars were ultimately chosen. There were a few that had good photo's; but I just ran out of room! but you'll be in the collage. Also; if I had too many similar cars; it made it hard to use all 2 or 3 especially if they fell in the same categories.

Bottom line is; I tried to include everyone the best I could.
