They did! It was on an old episode of Rides that used to air on TLC....

They used a replica/computer generated version of it on the last Triple X movie about a year ago.

yeah it is a nice concept. but like all their other great cars if they built it. they would make like 1500 which drives the price sky. just like the new release GT 500

They actually made a prototype of this car. It was at SEMA a year or two ago if I remember right. I have some pics of it on my other computer I think.
