Okay I know this can be done cause I've seen it, but Im not that Photoshop smart to figure it out on my own ..LoL (Hey Im still learning here) Anyways I was wondering if any of you SIG MASTERS knew how to change the color of the car in a pic and have it still look natural?

I'm getting ready to paint my project GT and would like to get some ideas as to what she will look like painted.

So if anyone could clue me in on how to do it or if they dont wanna give away any trade secrets thats fine too ..you could just do it for me... that would be sweet too.

I would like to to see what she will look like as orange (same orange from my old v6) with a chekerdboard fade back to a purple.
Other ideas I have been tossing around is Black with tribal Mystic flames.

Thanks in advance for your help

Well, Freak or Blue can tell you best. That being said you can trace out the body of the car and play with the hue and saturadtion to change the colors somewhat. I will wait for The Freak or Blue and take some notes myself.

use the pen tool and outline it. Then go into PATHS tab and the circle to "make new object" or whatever it says. Then put EDIT...COPY...then ADD..>NEW LAYER...then EDIT PASTE...then you find the one that says CHANGE COLOR..and you move it around on it.

In Photoshop CS, I outline the parts of the car that I want with the lasso tool, then desaturate the selection and go to Image - Adjustments - Color Variations and play with it until I get the color desired. There are other ways of doing this but that's how I do it. Hope this helps :beerchug:

Depending on the color of the car, shading, etc, different ways seem to work better than others to try to get a natural looking color change.

You need to use the lasso tool for all of them..

1. Lasso, then go to image, adjustments, replace color.. Select the colors that you want to replace, and then play with the sliders to get the color you want

2. Lasso, then go to image, adjustments, then desaturate. After that go to image, adjustments, hue/saturation and play there (make sure preview box is checked)

3. You can do the same as above, but without desaturating first

4. If you are just looking to change up the shade of the color a bit...
Lasso, image, adjustments, selective color

And like Mustang Freak said, there are probably a million other ways to do it too
