Perhaps the methods for modification also include exterior mods for the "heavy modified" or whatever the hell it's called. Under the hood your kickin' ass. Put a stock hood on the car and she's a real sleeper with the stock exterior. Scary...

i still have my original hood and have considered putting it back on. it's a long story, but with the aggressive cowl that i have, i've noticed that i get treated a little differently in traffic.... in other words, people automatically go on the defense in traffic or they themselves begin to drive aggressively when my car comes in close proximity to theirs. that is the main reason why i wanted my stock hood back on.

but i also know that with my turbo the temperatures inside my motor compartment are astounding. and the cowl hood does help with making sure that heat isn't trapped inside. and it also houses my shift light and soon to house my fuel pressure gauge. so the cowl hood is useful.

i don't know which way to go right now... thoughts?

EDIT: i think this is a good thread... i am going to open a new one.

The hood doesn't have to be that extreme to extract the heat. You could do it with a 2.5 cowl and move the gauge inside the car. a new HD radiator & fan could help the cooling. If you want the heavily modified rating Wendy you'll need to dump some dollars on the skin of the car. Possibly the LX Zenon body kit, a new paint job, rear spoiler; customer interior work. (painting some piece to match the outside of the car) and yes cleaning up under the hood to include the use of chome parts and chrome covers. You need some bling to move up to the next level.

Right now your ride is a kick ass E-ticket ride and you need the hot street look now for that Heavily Modified clasification. Me, I'll take your stock look and 500+ horsepower under the hood any day.
