Alirght. I just purchased four Silver Pony Wheels w/tires this morning for $200.oo. There are a few blemishes, but at $200 they are very nice. The kit from 5.0Resto.com are about $600 for rims, center caps & lugs. (Picture of them attached.) so I couldn't go wrong.

Question. I am currently running the chrome "Ultra" 15" rims on 205 60R15's.

The pony's are 16". To keep the same dimensions what do I run on the these? The set I purchased has tires, but the guy was running 245 50R16's on the back (these are almost the same height & width - a bit taller) on the back and 205 50R16's on the front and these are much taller than my current set-up - which is expected.

On my current set-up the rims are a bit deeper than the pony's.

Any help is appreciated before I start checking on tires sizes and prices. Thanks.

Crimson, when I had my 245/45/17 (stock tires) on my 04 GT, then went with 255/40/18 (front) and 285/40/18 (rear), it made my speedo be off by 3 mph at 70. So when my speedo read 70, I was really doing 73. Click Me (http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html)

Have you changed your gears ? Anyway according to http://www.coolcats.net/stockmod/modified/wheels_oe.html Stock tires on a fox were 225/60/15. If you havent changed gears your speedo reading 65,you would be going 67.47 with your old wheels and tires. The factory tires were 25.63" tall. The ones you have on now are 24.69" tall. So if you have stock gears still, you need a tire thats close to 25.63". The 245/50/16's that are on your new wheels are 25.65" tall. Thats probably about as close as your going to get. Your speedo would only be 1/2 mph off at 65. Did you want the same size all around,or smaller up front ? If you want narrow up front 205/60/16's are close to the same height. I used the http://www.discounttiredirect.com calculator to figure this out.

I am currently running Numho KU31 245/50 16 tires all the way around. The fronts could have been 225/55 16 and those would have been a bit narrower and less than a quarter inch taller. But... they had to be special ordered with a two day wait - three with the Holiday weekend. screw that. I have some rub when turning hard, but its no big deal.

The stang looks good with the new rubber. Can't wait to get the chrome ponies down the road. :)

Thanks everyone for the help with tire selection.
