you dont really need spring compressors on a mustang, but it makes the job a bit faster imo. you could do it with the help of a friend in like 4 hours if your not expirienced

How you ever gonna learn anything new? Springs were probably the third thing I'd ever installed after a catback and headers. Just tell us when you're gonna do it and we'll all hang online for immediate tech support if necessary. You want a writeup on exactly how to do it?

232stang

if you give me a day that you will be doing it i will hang out online to help u
hell we could start an aim chat to help

I do not mind doing it. The problem for me is if i screw up somethign liek springs then i am really screwed i have to tow my shit. If i were to screw up headers or a cat back i can still drive it lol thanks for all the help. How long you guys thinking it would take me to do this? I like learnign stuff. I put on my intake, my exhuast my pro 50 shifter. things like that. how does it compair to those things?

quick write up for the rear
NOTE: THIS IS NOT FOR MUSTANGS WITH IRS

Jack up the rear of the car
next put jacstands in the rear part of the unibody and remove the jack
take off both rear wheels
next jack up the axel on the side which you will be replacing the spring
unbolt the shock bolt and nut that connects the axel housing to the shock
lower the jack slowly
with your foot push down on the arm and tug on the spring it should come out with minimal difficulty
transfer the upper isolator to the new spring
place the spring back on the control arm making sure the lower pig tail is facing the driver side
jack up the axel once more
replace the shock bolt and nut (tq spec= goodentight)
put the wheel back on and your done with the rear.

this link looks pretty good. i would need to rent a spring compressor and probley get a few nice jack stands. preobley end up saving money in the long run and end up with some new tools :) Might be a good idea to do a write up anyway if somebody has some spare time we could make it a stickey and it woudl help out other people in this same area and wanting to know how.
