Hi everyone.
Last year, I bought a body in white from Steeda down here in Florida.
It's a 2004 Mustang body, BRANK SPANKING NEW!!
I am building this car from the ground up!
So far, I have a new take-out IRS unit from a 2004 Cobra in it.
I will be building it as if Ford had decided to build a Cobra "R" in 2004, which they didn't.
Anyway, this is what I have decided to do, but many options are still open. BTW: I have also posted this info on www.mach1registry.org
Edits in bold type are final decisions some with parts acquired

Appearance:
Rear Bumper: 03/04 Cobra with rear exhaust ( so I can run SFC's)
Front Bumper: 03/04 Cobra w/ Foglights
Possible/probable "R" type front lower valance extension/spoiler
03/04 Cobra side skirts and 1/4 scoops
Mach/Bullitt type 1/4 windows and sail panels ( just purchased!)
2000 Cobra "R" Hood
2000 Cobra "R" type rear wing
Cobra/export type tail lights
Torch Red ( 2004 color)
Suspension:
Bilsteins Front and Rear ( 03/04 Cobra spec)
FRPP Front and Rear Cobra spring kit
Cobra steering gear and coupler shaft ( it's different than the others)
2000 Silver FRPP wheels
BFG Tires KDW or whatever they are, 2000 "R" size
Front brakes: Brembo "R" kit
Rears: Stock Cobra/Mach
Braided brake hoses all around
ABS w/Traction control
Interior:
Hybrid 2004 Cobra/ Mach interior and dash ( Black/ dark gray)
Mach 460 Sound
AIR CONDITIONING. ( this is Florida, after all)
Engine combination:
5.4 32V Navi motor
T56 6 speed w/ Tri-Ax shifter
3.55 rear gears
Forged Manley H Beam Rods and Forged Pistons 11:1
Ported FR500 heads and cams (Poss. ported by Boss330 racing)
FRPP Aluminum Flywheel and Cobra Clutch kit
March Fluid Damper type UD Pullies
Hybrid intake ( Finalizing ideas. Hope it works)
BBK Dual 65mm Throttle body ( Just kidding. I am going Accufab)
Ford EEC 5 PCM from mach ( tuned or chipped)
100% 04 Mach 1 wiring harnesses throughout
Cobra fuel tank with Dual pumps
Headers: ( working on that too. Ideas.............)
Hi flow cats. Yes I am running cats. Probably 03 Mach 4 brick.
Still have not made final decision on the seats, but it will have front and rear seating.
I am hoping for 450 at the wheels. Maybe more. N/A
What do you guys think?
Ideas, opinons? ( be nice)

Sounds like quite a project. Bet it turns out awesome. I do have one question though. Why the IRS????? Most Cobra owners hate them due to wheel hop. Are you gonna brace it up to keep it from having those issues.

I went with the IRS because I was able to get a complete brand new unit.
The car will have the stock 3.55 gears, and I figure if I go higher numerically, it will make the wheel hop worse. I have yet to decide yes or no on Delrin bushings and additional bracing. Still researching that part. I want to useas many "factory" items as possible, to see what Ford COULD have done if they chose to.
The car is not being setup for drag racing, more of an overall performance vehicle, acceleration, ride and handling.
I am building it as a "What if" Ford built a Cobra "R" for the 2004 model year.
This car will have all the creature comforts, AC, Mach 460, etc.
Interior is almost done.
Rear suspension done.
