Did you bleed all the air out of the system? it could be vaccum locked? Is the hoses gettting warm at all?

When you were changing out the core you didn't pull any of the vaccum hoses off did you? I know...I had to ask but I'm sure you already checked that.

the only vaccum line was the one for the door flaps for like the vents and everything.. i also got another ? my temp guage is reading high do u think that could be the problem and that the thermostat is open

I don't know how bad your core was but could it have sent trash into the system? if so yes it could have jamed the thermostat open. If it's taking forever to get hot I mean a lot longer then before then yes it could be stuck open but on the same note there could be trash sitting on top of the thermostat and not letting it open. Your guage is reading the block so You could check and make sure the radiator is getting hot or not to rule out the thermostat closed. If the thermostat is staying open then you will not get the engine cool or the heater hot.
