Exploded Radiator..

I was driving home this morning from Work, driving in the fast lane and noticed a slight ticking noise the same RPM as the motor. Pushing the clutch in to let the motor idle down and the damn thing died. Geared down to 4th and released the clutch and it started up again. Made my way over to the shoulder of the freeway and it died again. Engine bay full of overspray from the radiator, but all the water was coming from the middle of the radiator, not the top hose clamp or the bottom either. Got towed(wish I had the camera for that hunt claim) to the dealership, and they called me back and siad I had exploded the radiator.... Never in my 35 years of driving has that happened.. Anybody ever done this?? They will replace the radiator and pressure test the system but it is just wierd to me that this happened.... :nutkick:

What?! I've heard of busted, leaking, and all out faulty......but never a radiator just up and exploding like that. Sounds like what the mechanic was saying, something else caused it and the radiator was the victim :nailbite: Which ride was it, your black 1 or blue 1?

'04 GT was the victim.. I looked at the rad today and the side seam was opened up.. I have driven 35 years now and NEVER had this happen.. :looney:
