View Full Version : ADVICE FOR MY NEW 347 STROKER, CAM HELP

Iam looking for some advice for my new 347 Stroker its got 10.5.1 Comp. Iam useing my Edelbrock RPM heads, with roller rockers and .202-.160 valves 60cc,And a Stealth Intake, 700 DF,DP Holley All MSD Ignition, Its a 1985 Block. It has a 3000 Stall, Full C4 Race Trans, 410 Gears. The car weighs 3000 lbs. I would like to go with a soild lift cam, Thanks for Any advice on the lift and Dur. @ 50.
Ed at flowtechinduction.com knows his stuff I have one of his custom grinds I would not get no where near the power out of my combo with any other cam!!!!!!!

THANKS FOR THE INFO BUT IAM LOOKING FOR A SOILD LIFT CAM, DO YOU THINK A 245@50 DUR. AND 560 LIFT WOULD BE OK AS FAR AS PISTON TO VALVE CLEARANCE? THANKS CAR9FAN

There is no thinking with piston to valve clearance. Just check it. Better to be safe than sorry!

That depends on the pistons that you have. I would call whoever you got the stroker from and ask. Even if they say it will work,5.0liter is right. You should always check. Especially with a cam that big.

Thanks for the advice, its a roller cam, The motor is running great STRONG, I made 2 eazy passes on it, Only shifting at 5000 RPMs And a 12.03 and then 11.86 at 116 mph Iam going to shift the car at 6800 when it gets good and broke in, Thanks CAR9FAN
