I was sitting here all of 40 minutes ago, being bored so I decided to take the stang for a drive. Wrong f*cking night for a drive. I was sitting at a red light literally 2 blocks from my house and I look in my rear view mirror and this guy is coming up way to fast, and then BAM! He rear ends me. Needless to say, I was a little :censored:. I get out and look, rear bumper is :censored:ed and I just looked after I got home, my exhaust tip is bent along with the hanger. I also just had my car painted in September!
What I really need help is, where can i get a 3.5in Bassani Exhaust tip for a 1998 Mustang GT?
O yea, no one was injured, until next month when I get my insurance bill. :diss:

I was more upset at my stang getting wrecked than mad at the 86 year old dude. He was also by the way driving a HONDA! :diss: isn't that a kick in the nuts?

I have to take it to an Acura dealer to get a price quote because that is the body shop that his Insurance uses, I would much reather have it done at a Ford dealership, Acura guys don't even know what a V8 looks like.

That really sucks...I'm always paranoid about getting in an accident (especially after mine about 1 or 2 years ago in my parents Grand Prix, stupid Geo Metro).
My boyfriend got rearended on the freeway just last month over Christmas break. Jackass was trying to thread the needle between a semi truck and my boyfriend's Camaro. Ended up slamming into the back of Jason's car with his Dodge Ram. Totally didn't feel any remorse and last I heard hadn't filed a claim with his insurance.... :cussing: Man what an idiot. At least Jason got an attorney to work with him so he can milk this guy and his insurance. Ended up losing his car which he loved and got his back messed up for a while. He got a new Camaro (98 Z/28, same silver as his old one) with only 22K miles, so he's happy about that but seriously, what is wrong with people? People need to slow down and learn how to drive!!
Good luck getting it fixed, I'm sure it will all work out!

hate to break it to people but regardless of fault your insurance rate will probably go up...depends on the company you go through to get insurance though....I have a private company and am allowed 3 free claims before I am penalized....my friends who use geico, all state, state farm etc have some insurance packages that do not care who is at fault but rather an accident occurred....Price goes up for the person not at fault as well...
I know the feeling of being hit by a honda, hang in there and make sure to get extra parts for the stang and write it off to the other guys insurance company...
would be a good time to have his insurance pay for a new bumper as well as the entire new exhaust system....I feel that since you have to go through the pain of not having a car and finding alternate transportation the least the other person can do is buy a new part for your car to compensate for your lost time and stress from the situation....

Your insurance shouldn't be affect since you were rear-ended. Their insurance will pick up the tab.
I got rear-ended yesterday on the way home. Luckily I was rolling forward when the lady banged into the car. No damage, just a scratch to the bumper, but it sure twisted up my neck. If there had been damage, they would have totalled my 87.

I don't know your state laws but in Fl they can't MAKE you go anywhere...they give you an estimate and you choose. You have a Ford and should be able to take it for the repair to a Ford dealer....althougt I would be careful about that. My bro had the rear bumper damaged on his Cobra took it to the dealer and they painted it on the car :fu: overspray every where runs..it was terrible.

Well one of the 3 places I get a price quote, one needs to be that Acura dealer, I am not going to have them work on it. I am going to have them replace my exhaust system and my rear bumper. There are chunks missing out of my bumper so it needs replacing, regardless of what they say.

Your insurance shouldn't go up... Not only was it not your fault, but it was a stop light read end accident (no way to avoid it).

$391.......I don't pay a dime, sucks for his insurance company! New rear bumper and two new exhaust tips, plus labor and paint. I'm gonna buy Mac LT's and an H-Pipe w/ Converters soon after this ordeal is over with.
