Down here in Charleston, SC They are getting 4 of them in. $5000.00 down now, to order one and 73000.00 when they come in. They want a total of 78000.00 for the car minus the 5000.00 deposit. I wanted to order one until i found out the total price. They are supposed to be making them for 3 years. The price will probably drop after this year's batch.

That is totaly insane if theyr'e asking 78g for that fucken car. The car is supposed to sticker 40k and that's it and not to mention the production #'s are not supposed to be limited to the point that there are bidding wars and giving the dealers this very strong arm shit that happened with the gt 40. If that happens you will hear a ton of angry people not to mention a bad rap given to these fucks. I f that happens I will go buy the new 07' hemi cuda and put a blower and hit it with a 250 shot from nx and clean house. :thumpupn:

You get Joe. I don't get it, do they want to keep this passion alive or are they driving down Camaro road. I can understand the 35-40K but come the F on 78K, I'll buy a condo near my parents in Florida instead.

I was at the dealership last night and the salesman there was saying that you can put down a deposit, didn't specify how much, and then that the car would be between 40k and 45k. However what is interesting to me is that none of the 4 dealerships I've been to in the past couple weeks has any idea when they are coming or what colors and some hadn't even heard of it. Does anyone else find that odd?

When I was waiting for my Nissan 350Z it was the same way. You put down 500$, then when the dealership got their order slips, they would call you and have you come in and specify what you wanted. You then got your car about 6 months later. These dealerships know damn well that people will be very very very willing to pay 80k for the car since it's the first Shelby in nearly 50 years. I'm lucky, and a very good friend of mine's dad owns a Ford Dealership. I'll get mine at sticker price, but there's no guarantees from anyone including Ford World Headquarters when, how, or how many of these things will be released.

I was told that they are going to make 7000 Cobra's in 07. They are even trying to auction them off to the highest bidder at some dealers. Outrageous. The GT is another perfect example. 140,000.00 car selling for 275,000.00 The first year and the still selling for over 225,000.00 here the 2nd year.
