Drag racing crash kills 3, injures 2
DETRIOT-A late night drag race led to a crash that killed three people and injured two others. The drivers of two Ford Mustangs, one black and one silver, were racing Sunday night when the black Mustang broadsided a van passing through an intersection, police said. The van rolled over. Police said it was not immediately clear whether those killed were in the van or were standing on the street. The driver of the black Mustang abandoned the car and ran away. The driver of the silver Mustang drove off.

PLEASE DONT STREET RACE!

Irresponsible no matter what the age.. to crash and then run from the scene, and to drive away from those you caused to die, again, moronic! :ranting:

That stuff sucks. We have a local drag track streeters can use on the weekends, but the kids still tend to use back roads and such. My work building is just off the airport with a nice straight side road. On Saturday nights as many as 80 ricers have been showing up and using my companies parking lot as a staging and viewing area for their runs. Needless to say my company finally had enough and two weeks ago the cops were waiting and nailed the group confiscating nearly 40 rice mobiles and over 50 people. Talk about picking up a bowl of rice.

Hopefully when people read this kind of thing it makes them think before doing any kind of Street Racing!!

I just got my license in June, there is no way I am going to risk lossing my license, my car, or my life just to have a little fun. We all now, it doesn't matter how fast you can go, its how good you look going slow. lol

Wait no, it is how fast you can go, but save the toping out of your car for the dynos and the legal tracks.

OK so he wasn't racing but my wifes cousin's husband(sounds SO Cliche'd doesn't it?) died last week falling asleep at the wheel. I didn't know him that well but we had shared a few beers in our time. Bottom line is cars are dangerous no matter what the situation...

This is bullshit! It wasn't even a race. The media here in SE MI likes to make every bad wreck look like street racing. 10:00pm on a Sunday, huh? Yeah, we're all out at that time on a Sunday street racing.
