well i got some cash for christmas after paying off the cards. I am looking to spend about 500 to 700 bucks. i was thinking about getting any of this
Nitrous kit with window switch
4.10 gears
BBK CAI and some engine dress up stuff

Help me out with what to get. thanks. and your comments on where to get them would help also.

A good nitrous setup is going to cost more than $700...a complete Nx kit with all the safety gear, purge, window switch, etc will run you right about 1000. For the money you have to spend I would get a set of 4.30's and a set of DR's

go with the 4.10's you have under your bed and get a nice set of longtubes, mid pipe, and have weld in mufflers if you don't have a cat-back

yea i have the 4.10's under my bed i was gonna throw those on and gonna get some bbk long tubes and a mid pipe i got a cat back so yea whatever. Just the price of the install on those is crazy cause you have to drop the K member in order to put in the long tubes to the guy wants me to pay him like 600 bucks just to put in the damn long tubes. that is wack. but does that sound about right or what?

If you have the tools to do it your self it would be a great weekend project for you and a buddie. here is a site with step by step instructions for the install. WOAH>>>>!!!!! (http://www.fnsweet.com/garage/lt_install/index.shtml#1) I plan to install mine my self with a buddie who has a nice heated garage and all the tools I could dream of some time in jan or feb of next year, Should be installing the drop springs in a couple of weeks. though I might wait untill I'm doign the long tube swap so I don't have to pay to have my front end alligned twice.

with somethign like gears i do not trust my self enuff. LOL i will pay 300 bucks to have somebody else do it that way i do not screw up my car.

I was talking about the long tubes. of course you only want to take your car to a professional for a gear install I havea guy here doing it for 150 bucks, but i have to get something to swich over the speedo. looks like I finally have an excuse to buy the diablo predator tuner :D

you have to re adjust your speedo when you get new gears? shit what is that gonna cost me? the long tubes i could probley do my self.

well i called up the place that does all the work on my cobra (the guy owns 3 mustangs) he said to go with a 3.55 gear since i am gonna get blown next spring. said the gears woudl cost me 130 and install woudl be 200 to 250. so i am gonna go with that put the rest in to springs to drop my baby. :) rims in jan thanks for the help.

ok i will ask him that. I really have no clue what gears to go with. He tells me do not go with 4.10's or anything that low because you will run out of engine. And you shift a lot but said that the 3.55's woudl feel great put me in my power band a lot faster.

how do 3.55's put you in your power band alot faster than 4.10s? as far as i know in terms of 4v mod motors, they love to rev...the only choice in a 4v mod is a 4.10 ratio...a few of my buddies run 4.30s on their daily driver 98+. dont fear the gear, and go with 4.10s...3.55's are not even worthwhile when you are at 3.27 stock. you say you are going blown...is that a definate? 500whp on an IRS car will result in broken half shafts all day long on drag radials and a lil throttle happy. the guy tells you that you are going to run out of engine. the prime scenario in a quarter mile race is to cross the line at the top of 3rd tickling the shift point. 4.10s will put you in that spot, whereas 3.55's wont get you through your powerband through 3rd as you cross the line. just some things to consider. post up on a forum in regards to gears...come to fordpower.net/forums, and post up in the mod section, i guarantee you'll get the 4.10's answer over any gear, and some 4.30 answers.

cool. Yes i know i am getting a blower when i get my tax money back. he said it woudl put me in my power band faster than the stock gears and i woudl not be shifting every few seconds.

he said if you go too high with gears you will "run out of motor" meaning you shift so much your car does not pick up enuff speed and you spend most the time shift. i dunno if that is true or what. but he has 3 mustangs his self all running mid 10's.

I would go with either 3:73 or 4:10 gears!!!! I beleive the 3:73 is the best all around street gear.....

with the mod motors you definatley want to go with 3.73 but if you want to go na 4.10's for dailey driving and 4.30 or higher for drag car :D

4.10's or 4.30's. I love my 4.10's, daily driven.

Do yourself a favor and run 4.10's

I run 4.30's on the street DAILY on 275-60 DR's with no problems. You need a gear that is going to put you through the traps at the top of 4th gear. The local badass on my board has a 283 mod 4v mod motor running 4.30's with a 28" tires and running a best ET of 10.39@131 on a 1.40 60'

If he would drive the car harder it would see 10.30's easy.

gears are gonna rape me in price. lol well i got the 4.10's already under my bed so i guess i should use those. Just the install is gonna be like 250 bucks then have to get a new chip so my spedo is right. damn that sucks.

Ok, if it were me here's what I would do ... the 4.10's are plenty of gear, the only reason I went with 3.73's is because (like you) I already had a set just sitting there, and I'm considering going with a turbo soon. As for a chip, ... SCT hands down (it will also fix your speedo). I had my chip done by BamaChips.com (Doug). You won't be disappointed with the SCT products. As for the midpipe, I would go with a MAC Prochamber. Just my $.02 for the day.

BTW there are plenty of good shops that will do your gear install for less than what you mentioned, just shop around. ;)

I fould a place here the gear install is 150 bucks, but you have to recal your own speedo. Diablo Power tuner is on the way :D

dont get any tuners...i know someone that bought a predator for his 99 cobra, and it gained 3 peak hp and 6 peak tq, and moved the torque up in the rpm range. go get a dyno tune and a custom superchips burned.
