Does anyone have an easy way to rewire your foglights so they work independently of the headlights. I know Mustangworld.com has a way but for their way you need tons of stuff and you have to test wires and I don't have anyway to do that. Does someone have a way to do it for someone who isn't a electrical engineer?

I used the wiring diagram on MustangWorld. I just pulled the red/blk wire from the fog light switch; wrapped it with electrical tape so it doesn't ground out. Then I plugged in the purp/orange wire from the Conv. top switch connector in place of the r/blk wire. Had to change the ends because they are different sizes. Even though I don't have a vert. the wireing harness is still in our cars.
Here's the page: http://www.mustangworld.com/ourpics/hitech/rdtch1.htm

I tapped into my parking light lead wire. I can use fog lights without headlights. (but I need my parking lights on)
did this using a tap in connector

I cut the wire that was comming from the the fuse box and into the foglight switch. (existing power wire)

I took the end I cut, the opposite end from the end that goes into the fogswitch and insert that into the tap in connector and insert the parklight wire into the other side of the tap in connector...and PRESTO!

Now; instead of getting power from the fuse box/which is linked to the headlight "on" position, it now gets power from the parking light power wire. The tap in connector allows power to still go to the parking lights as normal.

I have a 93, so you prob. have different wiring...but I woudl think if you can identify the parking light wire in your harness, and you can identify the wire currently supplying your fog lights with power, then cut it and tap into the parking lights.

(btw; the other wire that is no longer the power that was cut should be capped off or taped up with electrical tape to avoid a short by it coming in contact with something.

hope this helps.

Great directions Nicole! :beerchug: I'm not sure how close the wireing is between the fox body and sn-95's. But then again I'm usually clueless when it comes to wireing :loser: . :silly:

This was really simple to do. Also the fog's work completely indepent from the lights. No need to turn the park lights or head lights on. And since the power source (p/o wire) is switched the lights go off when the ignition switch is turned off. So you don't have to worry about leaveing the fog's on and wakeing up with a dead battery.
