I love how Kofi Annan will be the first one to down America for only giving Indonesia 35 million dollars in relief for the Tsunami, but I have not heard one once of anyone other than American's giving up money to the relief efforts. Can anyone remind me why we need the U.N. I really wish that we would just remember this the next time there is a natural disaster in another Country.

I don't look at it as a favor, a favor is hey can you give me the answers to last nights homework, I forgot to do it.

In a time of need we give to anyone who needs it, It doesn't matter who it is, it just doesn't. We're having issues with Iran and North Korea. If an Earth Quake devastated thier Countries today, you can be guarenteed that they would have billions of dollars tomorrow. (Shit we can't even do that for ourselves). We don't do it so we can get something in return.

The UN complains because it's not enough.

Have we asked for any return of any favors due to this disaster - No I don't believe so, No one usually asks us, we just give it up. The UN sucks

At the time of my original posting the UN (Kofi asshole) had only offered his condolences. I'll go back and check again.

I think it's a matter of impressions... Other nations are under the impression that, since we always aide others, that we can take care of ourselves.

I think it's true, to an extent.

But I have read/heard of other countries, including some affected by the Tsunami, already helping out...

I think we need more help trying to teach people to stop being uncivilized sons of bitches than we do with funds to aide them with food, water, etc.

And I don't wanna hear any stupid comments about how "I don't know what it's like to be in that situation".... I grew up in Puerto Rico and went through many distructive hurricanes... Sometimes we'd be without power or water for over 2 weeks... And all we did was hang on tight, play dominos with our neighbors, and help each other rebuild our homes.

None of this raping/looting/killing bullshit... Not to mention, the "The US Government hates black people" bullshit.

And then we ask ourselves why there's been so much hesitation in the relief efforts.

Ungreatful sons of bitches.

Finally, a post I can identify with.

Hugo smashed the crap out of Charleston, did you hear about raping and looting?

Andrew smashed south Florida, same question?

Terrorists knocked down the Trade Towers, did the mayor go on TV and bash the Feds for not showing up, for not taking care of the whole situation? Was there raping and pillaging?

Katrina wiped into Mississippi and Alabama with even more force, heard any reports about raping and looting in those communities?

Hell no. If there was a way to sort out the good people from the bad in New Orleans, I swear I'd be the first to let the undeserving people die.

The jackass mayor of NO had the foresight to use the dome as a shelter for the less fortunate people in his city (which accoriding to the press is everyone) but he didn't have the sense to stock it with portable toilets, water, food, blankets or cots?

My heart goes out to the afflicted, but that city is showing it's true colors in the face of adversity. They needed real leadership, had they had a Guiliani from the beginning, things may have turned out better. However, their leadership chose to play the poor black victim card right off the bat and set the tone for the days to come. It's bullshit to think that help could just drive in there in the wake of a storm like that. Grrr, I hate the press.

Amen to your words...

And what you stated regarding them showing their true colors could not hold any more truth.

sorry just had to clear up your statement of "poilce kill 5 contractors on the wya to fix the levee"

Police actually shot and killed 5 armed men who were taking pop shots at police and the contractors that they were protecting when they were on their way to launch barges to fix the levee....Police killed 5 people who attacked the contractors that were under police escort...the police didnt shoot the contractors

I like the corrected version of the story a lot better. Last night it was reported a little differently. Last night the headline read that police killed five contractors.

I like the last statemrnt of the story:

"This breaking story will be updated."

Like with correct facts? Did I mention that I hate reporters? They really might be as dumb as they appear...

I lived in De Moines, IA in 1993 when the floods hit and the entire city lost water. There was no looting, nothing, everyone just helped everyone. The people worked and saved the city.
