I took my course online last year. They time how long you are on a page. For example, you cannot advance to the next page until you have been on the current page for atleast 120 seconds. If you try to move too fast it will tell you how much more time you need to spend on the current page.
And also if you are on a page for too long, it times out and makes you start the chaper over.

my friend took one.....ahhhahahah, thats SOOOO freakin easy....
My question is how to you get to take it so you dont have the ticket? do you just request that you take the class instead of paying the ticket?

Well in IL the judge will tell you about your option to plead guilty and ask for supervision... you always get supervision if you have a clean record. Sometimes he will say supervision for 6 months and attend a class... something like that. When signing up for the class I had the option for an internet class :)

During the period of time before your ticket is due to be paid you just take the online course. When you pay your ticket you just show them proof of course completion.
In Florida, attending a driver improvement course to satisfy the violation is entered on your driver record as "adjudication withheld." In other words:
no points will be assessed against your driver license,
the civil fine may be reduced up to 18 percent and
your insurance company cannot impose an additional premium or refuse to renew a policy for motor vehicle insurance solely because you committed a non-criminal traffic infraction with the exceptions of a second infraction within 18 months, a third infraction in 36 months, or exceeding the speed limit by more than 15 mph.

In TX, we can take the course to keep the ticket off your record provided you weren't speeding more than 25mph over the limit and haven't taken a course in the previous 12 months. Better still, you also get a copy of the course completion certificate to send to your insurance co for a discount on your insurance!

Ive taken DD about 6 times in the last 21 years, (never had a problem with it or a limit) and I took an online one last year when i had 2 tickets in one day. And, got Differed ajudication for the other. (had that 3 times. Probation, so to speak) Conditions vary from city to city.
I took it from Texas Leadfoot.com I think it was. It was a pain, they do make you stay on the page till the time runs out, but, I would do it again. They do have some 'trick' questions, and they do quiz you after each section. Was about $30 or so. I think I made a 96 on it. lol. I prefer the Comedy Clubs. (they dont serve drinks at that time!) One time at the end of the class, everyone was out at my car, and i had the hood popped. It was funny. If you are in a bind, and cannot find a place to do it that is good with your schedule, and only have a few days left, I suggest it. They send you your certificate immediatedly. Makes for a long boring day at the computer, but, you can get up, and pick up where you left off. Your looking at a good 8 hours. Or, it took me anyways, for a 6 hour corse. And, they dont give you the Final Exam answers like the real DD classes do. But, in a bind, it works... :thumpupn:

I usually end up having to take one every year. They are really easy. You read some stuff and watch some videos. Then you take a test and its done....
