I have a 98 Gt 5 speed. I am looking at putting a 01 or newer 4.6L engine into it. Are there any complications that i need to be prepared for? Such as wiring problems or mounts? Thanks for any info.

You can probably just save yourself some trouble and money and just get a PI Headswap. But if you are going to get a new engine get a 4v.

My only problem with just doing the head swap, is that i have a really bad rod knock. So i need to either replace the engine or rebuild the one i have now. Im trying to figure out what would be the easiest to do.

Well, you could buy a 5.0 stroker shortblock with forged internals, toss a PI setup on top of it and you'd be set for a power adder of your choice later on. A motor swap would not be a big deal at all. Just reuse your original sensors and wiring harnesses and then there's no issues to contend with.

I'll tell you, i'd love to drop a 4v Cobra engine in my GT, but I have nowhere near the amount of time/money/experience to do it.

That wouldn't be nearly as simple as a built 2V in this case. Unless you fell into a donor car, it'd be best (best=cheapest HP) in the long run to build the snot out of your 2V.

All right then. Thanks for the help. Yeah im thinking its going to be way easier to build on the 2V then to drop a 4V motor then work on it. Plus, im just going to get my car running right now. Not real worried about how fast. That will come in time.
