anybody read about it in the new MM&FF mag it seem pretty awesome :thumpupn: especialy when you can stroke there "tall deck 302" to 375!

I haven't seen the article, but I wonder what kind of intake you run on a tall deck block like that? You stuck with using a 351 lower?

the 351 has a estemated max potental of 470 ci!

I read the article. I'm having trouble figuring out the lower intake question. How can you have a block with a taller deck height than a 302 and still use a 302 lower? I think the "tall deck" version is modeled after 351 proportions.

well i may be wrong then and if so sorry but i think the only way to find that out is to contact mm&ff or the someone involved with the new block

Or just buy the new block and then tell the wife "Oh, I didn't realize my intake wouldn't work, I've got too much invested to stop building now..."

I think that anything you build based on the 8.2 or 8.7 inch 302 block is going to accept stock 302 pieces. At least that's what I gather from the reading, I just don't figure how it's done.

That block weighs 60lbs over a production piece. I'd definitely go big inches with it just to offset the weight penalty hanging out over the front axle. I'd already decided that either that block or the Dart block was going to be the foundation of my next build. I was going to do a big inch stroker and stay n/a, but I think now a poweradder that makes a whining noise will be part of the package instead.

The weight penalty is not a big deal, considering if you buy that block youre probably planning on some big ass power anyway.
